with Festival choir
Once again the Exeter Public
School choir will join the Blyth
Festival Singers in their annual
Christmas concert at the Blyth Fes-
tival Theatre on November 29.
Each year auditions are held at the
school to choose 100 students who
have shown ability and extra inter-
est in singing. Being chosen for
the choir is a source of great satis-
faction and pride for the children, ac-
cording to EPS music teacher Joan
Perrie. She hates to disappoint any-
one, but confesses that 100 song-
sters are all she can handle.
This is the fifth time the young
Exeter singers have been asked to tr
part of the Blyth concert.
The music is especially chosen to
combine adult and children's voices.
In one selection, the children will
sing "Away in a Manger" while the
adults hum the accompaniment. In
another, the children's choir will be
divided into four, each singing a dif-
ferent tune to a lullaby, "Christmas
Long Ago".
"We are still working on that
one", Mrs. Perrie said with a smile.
There will be two concerts, at
3:00 and 8:00 p.m. Tickets are
available at the school. The cost is
$5 for adults, and 1.50 for children
under 12.
Precious Blood news
Except for the bad weather the
senior boys of Precious Blood
played wonderful soccer games Oc-
tober 21. There were approximately
300 people attending with five
games going on at once.
The Precious Blood boys played
at thc High School soccer field. For
their first game they played against
St. Joseph's. There were two goals
scored by the Precious Blood boys
and one goal scored by St. Joseph's.
For Precious Blood the goals were
scored by Sivichay and Sisivay
Sengkhoumany.
For their second game Precious
Blood played Dublin. Dublin scored
two goals and Precious Blood scored
one goal. The Precious Blood goal
was scored by Sivichay Sengkhou-
many. -
The Precious Blood boys faced St.
Michael's for their third and final
game. St. Michael's scored two
goals and Precious Blood scored
none. Precious Blood won a thou
place pennant and everyone enjoyed
themselves.
All the grades participated in the
Remembrance Day program at Pre-
cious Blood School. Some of the
classes sang and the rest read poems
and explained the symbols of Re-
membrance Day.
Phil Campbell from the Legion
was a guest speaker. It was a very
meaningful program.
Constable John Marshall made a
special visit to give a presentation
about drug and alcohol abuse to the
grade seven and eight class. He
showed us some films and also
showed us samples of various kinds
of drugs. Constable Marshall ex-
plained the consequences of drug and
alcohol abuse. Everyone found it
very informative.

Cosgrove. We just got a new book
rack which can hold around 1000
books. We hope to fill it with new
books.

Stephen Central students were
very lucky. to have Eric Nagler; of
"The Elephant Show" perform at
our school. In the afternoon, our
School Partners were involved in
various activities. Here are a few re-
ports of a busy November 9.
Eric Nagler sang songs to us and
showed us some homemade instru-
ments. One instrument was called a
"Sewcrphone". Some people got to
play in a band.
My partner and I worked in Room
12. We took all the parts off the pi-
ano that we could., We also made an
instrument collage. The day was
really fun. Shawn Lynn
Etic sang lots of songs: one was
Skinnamarink. Some people played
combs. We sounded great.
My partner and I went to Room
9. We did the Spoons. It was fun
making them. I liked to try them.
Keriann O'Rourke
One moming Eric Nagler came to
our school. He sang songs and
showed us how to make instru-
ments.
My partner and I made a tambou-

mine. It looked great.
Shannon Sweiger.
I liked when Eric Nagler played
the banjo. I wanted to play the
hells. It would have been fun. I
liked when he sang "My Aunt
Came Back".
Kyla, my partner, and I went to
Room 5. We created a new instru-
ment called a "Rebambellum." It

Room 11 - Busy Times in
Kindergarten
We have had a very busy Fall in
our. Kindergarten Classroom. We
have teamed many routines and are
grating to learn our way around the
school. We especially enjoyed using
the ICON computers to help us
learn numbers. It was also fun to
learn the colours by having "colour"
days when we all wore the same co-
lour. On blue day, we wore blue,
we brought blue things and we
glued blue pictures on our colour
chart.
