Having trouble managing your
time? Try this technique used during
a series of workshops conducted by
the National Office Products Asso-
ciation.
Draw a vertical line down the cen-
ter of a piece .of paper. On the left
side, write: "My five worst time
wasters." On the right side: "What I
plan to do about them." Then, of
course, fill in the blanks.
Some time wasters to consider:
poor handling of paper work, unne-
cessary interruptions during the
working day, being unable to set up
and stick with priorities.

The members of Varna United
Church Women journeyed to Blyth
on Saturday to see Munroe Scou's
superb portrayal of "McClure" in
place of their regular monthly pro-
gram. They were joined by Rev.
Wilena Brown of Millbank for din-
ner at the Triple K restaurant.
Joan Beierling presided for the
business meeting in the lower din-
ing room of the Triple K. Two ban-
quets were served by the ladies in re-
cent weeks. Because of a healthy
financial position they have in-
creased donations to Family and
Children's Services and Alma Col-
lege. Visiting Homemakers were
also given a donation.
A new stove and refrigerator have
been installed in the manse, and two
trees planted in front of the manse.
These were joint projects of Goshen
and Varna. The old refrigerator was
moved to the kitchen of Varna
Church.
Thank you notes were received
from Laura Keys and Joan McAsh.
A note of appreciation will be sent
to the catering committee for their
excellent work. Pat Taylor has been
'added to this committee.
The committee for the December
meeting has planned a hot turkey
supper, to be held at 6:15 on De-
cember 3 for members and their
guests, former members and anyone
from the church or community who
would like to join them. Ann
MacLean of Clinton will speak on
her experiences at the National Con-
ference of Women, held at Waterloo
in July. Donations for baskets fol
shut-ins may be brought to this
meeting.
Varna Sunday School Teachers
meeting will be held at Deb Rath
well's on Thursday Nov. 19 from
7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Both Youth Groups will be ice-
skating in Bayfield from 3-4 p.m.
on Saturday. For rides meet in Var-
na at 2:45 p.m. Admission is $1.00
per person.
Sunday November 22 is the
White Gift Service at both church-
es. The service will be done by the
Sunday School. Food and gifts for
the Huron County Christmas Bu-,
reau arc welcomed.
Personals
Bill McAsh has been in hospital.
He is coming along quite well and
is expected home sometime this
week. Best Wishes for a speedy re-
covery, Bill.
Exeter Petites come close
Stratford Masterfeed Petite rin-
gette team were the opposition of
the Exeter Petites in Hensall, Satur-
day. The Exeter girls came close to
a win over Stratford, but came up
two goals short, losing 4-2.
Exeter's goaltender, Jana Webster,
who faced numerous shots from
Stratford, helped in keeping tile-
game
hegame close.
Cara Gardner scored first for Exet-
er on a pass from Janice Sanders.
Later in the game Katie Arm-
strong and Carrie Simpson com-
bined their cfforts to beat the Strat-
ford defense.
Next Saturday (November 21)
Exeter travels to Mitchell for a 1:30
p.m. game.
