Atoms. Novices, off to good start
Both the Novice and Atom teams
were off to impressive starts on
Wednesday November 4 with iden-
tical scores of 11-0.
The Atoms were victorious over
Zurich while Novice goalie Eric Groot
recorded his shut -out against Clinton.
Scoring the Novice goals were: Mark
Bell three, Jamie Campbell three,
Brock Weiss two and singles by Chris
Jones, Graham Keys and Greg Keys.
On Saturday. the Novices shut out
Goderich 2-0 with goals by Brad Hart-
man and Chris Johnes. Both goals
were assisted by Mark Bell.
The very young and inexperienced
Tyke team were defeated in the open-
ing game at Blyth on Saturday mor-
ning by a score of 8-1. Ryan Munn
scored Hensall's only goal.
Bodyfit open house
The Bodyfit classes sponsored by
the Hensall Parks Board are holding
an Open• House on Tuesday,
November 17 at the Hensall Rec. Cen-
tre from 7-8 p.m. Everyone is
welcome to come out and see what
this course can offer.
Shuffleboard
Notice change of date. The. Happy
Pushers will shuffle as usual this
Thursday, November 12 but next
week will meet on Tuesday
November 17 not on Thursday.

United Church
liensall United Church was
overflowing Sunday for the Remem-
brance Day service. -
Young people from youth organiza-
tions were present with the Legion
representatives. The groups took part
"in the presenting of colours and led a
parade to the cenotaph afterwards.
Rev. Douglas Wright led his con-
gregation through the service and
Mrs. Jean Jacobi played piano in the
absence of the regular organist.
The senior choir sang "Almighty
God When I Behold The Glory" and
Rev. Wright spoke on "The Task of
Remembering".
The senior choir now meets on
Wednesday evenings at 7:30 at the
church. New singers are , always
welcome.
Next week is anniversary Sunday
at Hensall United Church. Coffee and
tea will be served at a fellowship time
after the worship service.

Hello! Welcome to Queensway
news. For the month of November we
are fortunate to have the Bethel
Reformed ladies each Monday after-
noon to play bingo with the residents;
so Monday afternoon everyone had a
good time playing bingo and follow-
ing that the ladies led a hymn sing. A
nice afternoon for everyone.
In the evening Laurene Zehr, Annie
Zielman, Ann McBride, Ruth Seibert
and Dawn Erb were in and and
assisted with crafts. Residents finish-
ed the beeswax candles, stuffed and
sewed more pillows for our Craft Sale.
Afterwards the ladies shared a love-
ly lunch of a variety of muffins and
cheese they had brought.
Tuesday morning residents had a
good workout at fun and fitness. In the
afternoon we attended our church ser-
vice led by Pastor Sinasac. The
pianist was Phillippe Steckle. Father
Mooney also was in to provide Mass
for our Catholic. residents.
Wednesday afternoon several
ladies met for ladies hour, a time to
be pampered a little, visit a little and
enjoy a hot cup of tea from our good
china. We also exercised our lungs at
choir practice. We are practising in
preparation for the program we are
giving at our family Christmas dinner
December 13, 1987.

Residents are taking turns choosing
our featured movies each montes.
There is a wide range of tastes, but
romantic comedies seem to be winn-
ing out.
Friday we met again for crafts. Our
November 18, Craft and Bake Sale is
fast approaching and we are busy as
beavers in the Activity room -(produc-
ing for it).
We would like to thank little Jt ;sica
Brock and her classmates from Hen-
sall Public School for so graciously
sharing several pieces of their art-
work with us to decorate our walls.
Sunday was a very special mean-
ipgful day for many residents of
Queensway when the members of the
Hensall Legion came in and gave a
Remembrance day program. For our
people who have served their country
it especially meant a lot. Thank you
very much Hensall Legion.
And again a special date to

PARKING NOTICE
To facilitate Snow Removal, residents are
reminded that By -Law 19-85, as amended,
prohibits parking on the streets of Hensall
betweens the hours of 2 AM and 7 AM.
Members answered the roll call by
wearing a poppy. Plans were set and
members assigned their duties for the
upcoming bazaar on November 27 at
3 p.m.
The secret pal Christmas gift ex-
change will be held after the next
meeting on December 1.
A minute's silence was, observed for
Remembrance Day after which The
Lord's Prayer was repeated.
' The meeting was closed with
prayer. Hostesses were Sheila Cor-
bett and Phyllis Parsons.
Unit IV of Hensall U.C.W. met on
November 5.
Annie Reid's theme for the devo-
tional was "Place love as a fragile
plant in your life and spend a lifetime
cultivating.a harvest of the heart".
Following the reading of the
minutes the roll call was answered by
17 members, 50 visits were reported,
Elva Forrest gave a treasurer's
report and the offering was received
and dedicated.
Unit IV will provide lunch for the
general meeting and is in charge of
decorating the church for Christmas.
Audrey Christie gave the study on
Native Indians based on a book by
Chief Dan George.
Eileen - Rannie was hostess and
Dorothy Mickle was pianist. Lunch
was served by Dorothy Mickle and
Mabel Shirray.
Northcrest news
Wayne and Iris Payne and Amber-
ly visited Carl and Hilda Payne on the
occasion of Carl's birthday,
November 4.
Bruce and Janet Shirray enjoyed a
visit on Sunday with his mother
Mabel Shirray.
Margaret Mole travelled to
Dungannon last week to spend some
time with her son Bob and family.
Banquet tonight
The Hensall Legion Remembrance
Day banquet will be tonight, Wednes-
day, at the Legion.
Carmel Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church Women
held a very successful bazaar on
Saturday November 7. The winner of
the door prize was Kay Mock. The
winning ticket was drawn by Minnie
Noakes.
The December meeting of P.C.W.
will be held on Monday December 7
at 7:30 p.m. (Note time change) in
church basement, followed by a pot
luck lunch.
Roll call will be a verse of a
favourite Christmas carol and an ar-
ticle for a shut in. All ladies welcome.
On Sunday November 15 at 10 a.m.
the church service will be conducted
by the Rev. Peter Bush. We sincere-
ly invite visitors to join us in this
regular worship service.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Collins,
Waterloo and Mr. Charles Mickle of
Ayr were dinner guests Saturday
evening with their mother, Mrs. Laird
Mickle.
At Hensall Council meeting on Mon-
day evening the winners of the Week
of the Child participation competition
were presented with their certificates
and prizes.
New Hensall
clerk named
The Village of Hensall has hired a
new Clerk Treasurer to replace
Elizabeth Oke and will welcome Miss
Luanne Phair, Deputy Clerk in
Seaforth, to the position after Oke's
retirement January 1.
"1 think council has made an ex-
cellent choice," said Oke, of Phair's
selection from among the 22 applica-
tions received by the municipal office.
"She seems like a very capable per-
son," noted Oke in respect to Phair's
bachelor's degree in political science
and her Diploma of Public Ad-
ministration from Western, and her
AMCT received from McMaster
University in 1985. •
Phair has held the position of Depu-
ty Clerk of Seaforth since April 1982.

Rev. Lorne Keays sermon was en-
titled "The Marks of Conversion".
Rev. Keays is asking for your help in
letting him know of any Kippen
parishioners Who are in hospital. Ile
will gladly visit them if he is made
aware of such people. Don't think
others will tell him, they are thinking
you will!

Mildred McGregor to view the
videotape "Creation in Crisis", a tape
about the present day problems fac-
ing farming communities in Canada.
Gayle Turner conducted the wor-
ship service. Mary Broadfoot presid-
ed at the piano and also pleased the
group with a number on (he organ.

The Munch Bunch of Kippen 3 - 4-11
club held their sixth meeting at
Brucefield United Church on October
27. This took the form of our 4-11 par-
ty. It was a lot of fun.
We invited our mothers and
friends: about 30 attended. All of us
had a really great time, playing
games about fruits and vegetables.
On behalf of Kippen 3 - 4-11
members, 1, Barbara Fotheringham,
would like to thank Barb Moffat and
Janet Papple for leading this club and
our parents for making our 4-11 par-
ty a big success.
Our achievement night will be held
on Tuesday November 24 at Stanley

Mrs. Emerson Kyle has returned
home from a wonderful eight-day
visit with her son and daughter-in-
law. Don and Carole Kyle, who are
living in Chilliwack, British Colum-
bia, about an hours drive from Van-
couver.
We are pleased to report that Mat-
tie McGregor has improved enough to
return from Seaforth Hospital .to
Maplewood Manor.
