Fire sale a bargain hunter's heaven
The Staff at the South Huron Rec
Centre are up to their ears in an odd
assortment of gadgets, gizmos,
musical instruments, paints, papers,
boxes. chairs, pens, pencils and en-
cyclopedias and they waht you to
have it. .
The Rec Centre is working
feverishly to prepare a fire sale for
the.end of November. At this very mo-
ment the Agricultural building is fill-
ed to the Krim with articlesof interest,
salvaged from Exeter Public School
after the fire which destroyed sec-
tions of the school and left children
scattered across town in 'makeshift
classrooms.
Because it would cost almost as
much to clean and salvage the
damaged goods as it would to replace
them with new articles, Al Taylor.
principal of Exeter Public School,
was instructed by the school's in-
surance company to replace almost
everything which was touched by fire
or smoke.
Lynne Farquhar, who can be found
daily, covered in dust among hun-
dreds of boxes, expects the sale to be
held late in November after the mer-
chandise has been properly cleaned.
She added that there are a number of
bargains to be had.
