Pooley Exeter Branch 167 Royal Canadian Legion held their regular meeting Monday, October 26 with 42 members present. A scrumptious pot luck supper was enjoyed at 7 p.m. The tables looked attractive with coloured leaves and bouquets of fill mums. . President Shirley Smith conducted business. Lillian Anderson won the 50/50 draw for October, Elsie Jory the mystery prize. Sports chairperson Barbara Hearn reported two cribbage teams have ad- vanced to District level and five teams have advanced to District darts. A $50 donation each was made to Iluron Day Centre for the Homebound and Survival Through Friendship House of Huron County. New sweaters will be purchased for Granton Church” news By MRS. E. Retail tricks and treats Fire agreement passes The fire agreement for the.Exeter and area fire board has been approv- •ed by the four participating municipalities. At Monday's meeting of Exeter council, Deputy -reeve Lossy Fuller in reporting on a recent fire -board meeting said there had• been con- siderable discussion regarding the sharing of costs of fire hydrants within -the boundaries of the town of Exeter. She indicated the sharing of hydrant costs had been agreed upon and a chart covering same was being included in the agreement. • Stephen township advised that Lots 9 and 10 on North Boundary Conces- sion which is Highway 83 are to be taken out of the Exeter agreement and included in the territory covered by the Dashwood department. - A recommendation will go to area councils to support the county of Huron Rescue -Support System in their efforts to obtain funding of abut $72,500 from the J.E.P.P. Program. Area councils are to advise Fred Lobb, Clinton -Fire Chief and Mutual Aid Co-ordinator directly. Reserve fund monies have been in- vested with Standard Turst and Na- tional Trust in one year G.I.C.'s.
