The Legion Ladies hosted their
Christmas Bureau
needs knitters
The Children's Bureau organized
by the Huron County Family and
Children's Bureau needs mitts. Hun-
dreds of them.
Last year each of the 600 children
on the Christmas Bureau's list was
given one new article of clothing, one
new toy, and two pairs of mitts. That's
1,200 pairs.
The mitts are made by the kind
hearts and dedicated fingers of
volunteer knitters. Some make 40 or
50 pairs each year.
More knitters are needed for this
year's production. Wool may be pick-
ed up at either Barb's Country Crafts
south of Exeter on Highway 4 or the
Stedmans store in the north end of
town.
The Christmas Bureau depot will
once again be in the basement of the
Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle. The
mitts should be ready for when collec-
tion begins on December 7.
