BRADLEY DOUGLAS TAIT Pauline Teresa Marie Overholt and Bradley Douglas Tait ex- changed marriage vows on Satur- day, October 3, 1987 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father Gary Goyeau officiating. The bride as the daughter of Vic- tor and Veronica Overholt and the groom's parents are Stewart and Jew Tait. Maid of honour was Marlene Moore and bridesmaid was Elaine Hayter. The adorable flowergirl was Sarah ►Overholt. The best man was Michael Dupee and groomsman was Dale Kennedy. Handsome ringbearer was Jeremy Van Bergen. The wed- ding guests were ushered by Glen Overholt and Brian Tait. The beautiful wedding music was provided by the Exeter Precious Blood Choir. KEVIN OKE On Saturday, September 19, 1987, Joanne Carmen Miller and Kevin Donald Oke exchanged marriage vows at Coven Presbyterian Church, Exeter. Joanne is the daughter of Andy and Phyllis Miller, Exeter and Kevin is the son of Don and Betty Oke, Zurich. Maid of honour was Rosemary Miller, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were' Deb Oke, sister -in -low of the groom, Marg Miller, sister of the bride, Suzanne Mothers, and Dolly Creces, friends of the couple and Cathy Oke, cousin of the groom. The flowergirl and ringbearer were Courtney Oke and Christopher Oke, niece and nephew of the groom. The best mon was Brion Horner, friend of the groom. The ushers were Wayne and Randy Oke, brothers of the groom, Gord Love, friend of the couple and Richard and Rob Miller, brothers of the bride. Following a honeymoon in Mexico, Joanne and Kevin are living at RR 2 Hensall. We would like to thank all of our family and friends for helping to make our day very special. MR. AND MRS. DONALD MUNICH Mr. and Mrs. Donald Munich were united in marriage on August 29, 1987. Sally is the,daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ford of Doshwood and Don is the son of Mr" and Mrs. Sandy Munich of Maple Ridge, B.C. The hop. py couple tore residing in Maple Ridge, B.C. 4 L BUSY HANDS - Audrey Moore Exeter, gives some of the items she hos been making for the Christmas Bureau to Teri Pearson at Barb's Country Crofts. The Christmas Bureau gave out 1,200 pairs of mitts last year, and will need at least as many this year. Local,knit- ters may pick up the wool at Barb's Country Crafts or at Stedmans. Sorority off to the. races on October 7, Alpha Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi along with their husbands enjoyed a delicious dinner at London's Top of the Fair. Very few of us came away from the horse races showing a profit but it was lots of fun trying to choose a winner. A social evening was enjoyed by our Chapter on October 20 at the Masonic Hall with Alpha Pi serving as hostess to her three sister chapters. ('rafts were displayed by Wit- chcraft. October is win- ding down to a close and the witches and goblins are getting ready. Hap- py Hallowe'en to all. Remember to watch for all the trick -or -treaters. Birthday wishes to Olive Bierling, who celebrated her 95th birthday last week. Also best wishes to Gordon Heywood, who will celebrate his 96th birthday this week. The Exeter Lioness hosted a splen- did evening of music. Musicians were Roy Albright, Bill Moser, Carmen Bouchart and Roy Schram. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Thanks to the ladies for the program and the lunch following. The Legion Ladies hosted their Christmas Bureau needs knitters The Children's Bureau organized by the Huron County Family and Children's Bureau needs mitts. Hun- dreds of them. Last year each of the 600 children on the Christmas Bureau's list was given one new article of clothing, one new toy, and two pairs of mitts. That's 1,200 pairs. The mitts are made by the kind hearts and dedicated fingers of volunteer knitters. Some make 40 or 50 pairs each year. More knitters are needed for this year's production. Wool may be pick- ed up at either Barb's Country Crafts south of Exeter on Highway 4 or the Stedmans store in the north end of town. The Christmas Bureau depot will once again be in the basement of the Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle. The mitts should be ready for when collec- tion begins on December 7. monthly Bingo, last week. We look forward to seeing these ladies every month. Our last two weekly worship ser- vices have been conducted by Rev. Smits of Thames Road United Church • and Rev. Wright of Hensall United Church. Residents' Council met last week. High on the agenda were plans for Christmas. It's hard to believe that Christmas is only two months away. Plans are in the works for our Christmas Cakes Sale. Watch in corn- ing weeks for details. The Pathfinders visited this week and, decorated the Lodge for Hallowe'en. Thanks to the girls for all their hard work. Residents enjoyed playing crokinole and cards, and the treats served by the girls. Thanks to Agnes Aunger for escor- ting us out to lunch. We enjoyed the trip. It brightened up a rainy day. The girls at the 4 -Way Inn were a great help. Lunch was delicious.
