T -A photo Puppetree to Kirkton library T.V. Puppetree has given over 5,000 performances during the twelve years it has been in operation. Pup- peteer Tom Vandenberg has worked for a number of television productions Come join in the fun this fall when T.V. Puppetree and your local public library present the puppet play "Dog Days.' This colourful, and entertaining show is an original play from T.V. Puppetree. It relates the antics of a man and his dog as they prepare for a dog show, and come face-to-face with trouble, spelled C.A.T. Three real, live dogs are also featured in this production, along with the puppets. Sponsored by the Huron County Public Library with the assistance of the Outreach Ontario program of the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture and Ontario Arts Council, "Dog Days" will be presented at the Kirkton branch at 10:30 a.m. on Oc- tober 10. Admission is $1.00 per person. such as "Fraggle Rock" and "The Muppets" and brings this profes- sionalism to his performance. Need sun for beans The white bean crop throughout most of Huron County is still in good shape, but things could take a turn for the worse unless we get some more days of warm, sunny weather in the very near future, according to Brian Hall, crop specialist at the Clinton OMAF office. Many beans have been harvested already, he said, especially in the southern parts of the county, where they are showing excellent yields of 25-40 bushels per acre on the average and are of consistently good quality. However. he warns that some farmers still "seem to be from the old school of farming," where they pull their beans and leave them on the ground for a few days before combining. "That just doesn't work in the sort of weather we've been, having lately," Mr. Hall said. "It's much better to pull them in the morning and finish them off the same day." He said that in many places the unusual situation exists where soy beans are ready to come off at the same time as the white beans, with most crops being about 10 days earlier than usual. This has also meant that winter wheat can be sown any Lime -frem bow_mai l about Oc- tober 10, with standing beans and damp weather complicating that situation as well.
