Phyllis Rodd gave a report on the Fall Rally to be at St. Joseph's Parish Hall, Stratford on October 8. Shirley Brintnell and Doris Denham are the delegates for the W.I. Convention to be held in St. Marys October 15 and 16. It was moved and seconded to cater to Campbell Soup Co. Christmas par- ty in December. District President Mrs. Don Sinclair brought greetings from the district. Doris Denham and Shirley Brint- nell were in charge of this meeting on "Education and Cultural Activities". Doris Denham gave a humorous reading on our English language. Julie McDougall favoured us with a piano solo. She introduced Mrs. Harold Burgin who spoke on the Co- operative Education program at St. Marys D.C. and V.I. Linda Denham spoke on her work as Food Supervisor at Parkwood Hospital in London. Terry Brintnell, a teacher at the Seaforth High School, also gave a very interesting talk on Family Studies. Lisa Rundle of Exeter works at "Paperworks", an advertising and typesetting company in London. She also has her own business "Lisart Designs", designing everything from logos to t -shirts. She brought "art mark" to show, Folk art, painted wooden hearts and welcome signs to look old fashioned, also grape vine wreaths with hearts, teddy bears and houses with an add- ed touch of baby's breath and bows. Order special plates soon If you're planning to give per- sonalized licence plates for Christmas gifts, it's best to order now. According Ito Ministry of Transportation and Communications officials, all plates ordered by Oct. 21 will be ready for Christmas. Since their introduction in July '83, personalized plates have become popular Christmas gifts at 1100 a set. in the past, the number of orders soared from 60 to approximately 150 a day by late October. However, these plates take six to eight weeks for delivery, so you should order early if you want a set ready for the holidays. This year, in response to th4 Christmas rush, MTC' has tiesigned money envelopes you can put under the tree in lieu of the actual plates. The recipients can then take the money to their local issuing office and choose what they want on their plates. The envelopes are free and available at all issuing offices across the province. Personalized plates may have from two to six characters arranged in any combination of letters, or numerals and letters, except those combina- tions used on regular plates. Com- binations which do not include any let- ters, may contain up to two numerals.
