Choir practice will be held Wednes- day evening at 8 p.m. in the Church sanctuary. U.C.W. meeting for October will be Thursday October 1 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School rooms. Roll Call will be "something you are thankful for". The ladies of the congregation are invited to come and see the pictures of the Leprosy Mission. In hospital at South Huron Exeter are Mrs. Idella Sims and Mrs. Alma Schwartz. Crediton and District social club held their first dance of the season Saturday night. It started off with a delicious roast beef barbecue. The beef was done by Jim Allan and helpers. At nine o'clock we danced to the music of Tennessee Gentlemen. Hats and T-shirts were the order of the night, prizes for the best hat was Glena Tripp, Best T-shirt Dave McDonald first prize, tied for second was Shirley Preszcator and Jim Allen. John Brock got a prize for best suspenders. A' cheese basket was won by one of the fellows in the band. Happy Birthday was sung to Ross Jacques, Fred Bowers, Bill Wilds and Helen McDonald. • Congratulations was sung to Peter and Sandy Martin who were married a week ago. Mrs. Stan Preszcator attended a small birthday party get together for her granddaughter Jenna Barnes held at the home of Mrs. Lorna Barnes and Ken Werham, Thedford. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator at- tended the Preszcator reunion Sunday at the Salford Hall. Play euchre at Centralia By Mrs. TOM KOOY The euchre at the community cen- tre on September 21 had nine tables playing with prizes going to high score Marjorie Steeper, Earl Morgan, lone hands Doris Pfaff, Cleve Pullman, low score Mary Meikle, Harold Harness. Special prizes went to Murray Carter, Leroy Oesch. Next euchre on October 5 will be convened by Jean Millar, Earl and Mary Lou Morgan and Murray Carter. Guests with Tom and I Sunday following anniversary services at St. Patrick's Church, Saintsbury were Helen MacDonald, Harry and Marian Noels all of Lucan and Howard Dolan, Watford. Rose Cunningham, presi- dent opened the meeting with the members prayer in unison. Prayers for the Sunday School, absent members and the sick followed. Mary Jefferies read the minutes of the previous meeting and Nadine Bedell gave the treas. report and read a letter front our prayer partner. Monies were voted to the budget. It was agreed that each family make a cash donation to the church treas. in place of having the annual chicken. barbecue, any member wishing to make this contribution the treasurer would be grateful. Plans were made for a social even- ing to be held in the Parish Hall on Monday,_ October 19 _with a guest speaker. The members from surroun- ding churches will be invited. Nadine served a delicious lunch at the close of the business meeting. Thanksgiving Thanksgiving and Holy Commu- nion Service were held Sunday with Rev. B. Wheeler in charge. The church wastastefully decorated with fall flowers and vegetables. Cheryl Carroll was pianist and Heather MacGillivray sang a solo. I was reader for both lessons, Rose Cunningham was server. Rev. Wheeler spoke on Thanksgiving to the children and on sharing. Her text was from the first reading. She reminded us on all we have to be thankful for and the dangers of aids, quoting our Bishop on the subject and following the service all enjoyed a friendly chat before going their way. Submission from high school students, community members and high school teacher will be amalgamated to be used in a col- lective production to be performed at the high school jn the spring of '88.. Your submissions may not be used in their entirety but if used, your name will be credited in the program. Submissions will not be returned. Deadline is December 1, 1987.
