(519) 534-1638 or 534-2980.38x CIJSSIFIEDS For All Your Needs 235-1331 Dear Sir: In recent years, during my retire- ment, I have written and published some notes on my life in Exeter, Devon, England, which led me into research concerning my, relatives who lived in Exeter, Devon, a few hundreds of years ago. My first booklet refers to the roads, streets, Ind schools of Exeter as they were around 1910. The second deals with the long succession of in- habitants of a certain Malborough Farm, some four miles from Exeter on the Roman road to London. It seems extremely likely that in your town of Exeter, Ontario, there may well be living descendants of the first settlers from England, who nam- ed their new home to indicate the one they had left here in England. I should like to know whether any of your citizens would be interested in pur- chasing copies of my work, I could make these available, and the price would be very moderate. Yours sincerely, Frank Retter The Garth, 151 Church Road Combe Down, Bath, Avon, England. BA2 5JN File resolution on bilingualism Exeter council took no action on a resolution from the county of Lanark on the subject of bilingualism. The resolution noting there are growing concerns to implement man- datory bilingualism within the pro- vince asks that all municipalities in- clude a referendum on this issue dur- ing the 1988 municipal elections.
