Coates to reside on the family farm.

Rabies is a contagious and fatal
disease. People get rabies from a
virus carried in the saliva of infected
animals- such as dogs, cats, and
livestock, or infected wildlife such as
skunks, foxes, bats, and raccoons.
Any warm-blooded animal can get the
disease and pass it to others. The
rabies virus attacks the central ner-
vous system, eventually working its
way to the brain. Once symptons ap-
pear, death is inevitable.
Animals don't all behave the same
when they have rabies. In some
animals, the symptons are more pro-
nounced. Cats frequently become
vicious. They hide, then spring from
their hiding place at any animal or
pet -son passing by, inflicting bites and
scratches. Dogs may wander aimless-
ly and inflict bites without provoca-
tion when they encouter other
animals or people who interfere with
it. Cattle become restless and
egressive, suffer muscle spasms, lose

Hello from the residents of the
Villa. Sumner is gone and fall is upon
us. We hope that the recent damp
weather doesn't affect the upcoming
fair. We are looking forward to see-
ing you at the fair. Good luck to
everyone at the 133rd Exeter Fair.
1)ur monthly birthday party for the
nursing home. celebrated September
birthdays. Lloyd Reichert won the
prize for guessing the correct number
of soy beans in a jar.
Memories were shared about
school days in the past. A delicious
birthday cake was served at the con-
clusion of the afternoon. Thanks so
much to Jackie Snell for donating the
cake. Birthday wishes to Ruby Ander-
son, Frieda Bierling and Hugh
Hutchinson.
Residents enjoyed our last
barbecue of the season. The delec-
table spread included chicken.
sausage. home baked beans and tri-
fle. 'Thanks to the dietary girls for all
their hard work.
Our weekly worship service was
conducted by Vicar Larry Stojkovic
of Dashwood. Thanks to the Vicar for
helping us with very litte warning. We
enjoyed his service and hope to see
him again.
Now that school has commenced we
are once again welcoming Mrs.
\\'ebster's class from SIIDHS. We en-
joyed playing various games with the
students. Everyone enjoyed the
Legion Ladies Auxiliary monthly
bingo.
We enjoyed seeing the antics of the
Three Stooges. Thanks to one of our
nurses, Agnes Aunger. for the loan of
her VCR.
A group of senior citizens attending
a lecture heard the speaker lash out
at their enemies, concluding: "The
time has come when we must get rid
of socialism and communism and
anarchism. and ,.."
At this point. a little lady jumped to
her feet and shouted "While we are
at it. let's get rid of rheumatism.
