Staffa ,Mt
Christmas in July at nursing honie
By MRS. J. TEMKIMAN
"Christmas in July" was the theme
Wednesday afternoon at the Mitchell
Nursing Home, when twenty-two Staf-
fa Women's Institute members and
friends met with the residents for an
afternoon of visitation, entertainment
and lunch.
The co-ordinators for the afternoon
were Margaret Kemp, Marion
McCaughey and Grace Kerslake.
Grace Kerslake chaired the program,
opening with the Institute Ode and
collect following with several old,
familiar songs and Christmas carols
sung by all with Marion McCaughey
accompanying on the piano. Marion
also played a medley of old favourites
for the enjoyment of everyone.
Three young visitors helped to
entertain. Joyce Fell delighted
everyone with several selections on
her violin with Marion accompanying
her. Everyone enjoyed a number of
selections on the piano by Christine
N. Kemp, Clinton, and an exchange
visitor from Quebec, who is a guest of
Danielle Thompson, Seaforth enter-
tained with a piano instrumental.
Margaret Kemp read a Christmas
story and then distributed gayly
wrapped Christmas gifts in decorated
baskets to the residents. The lunch
committee, Grace . Kerslake, Edna
Burchill and Marion McCaughey
assisted the nursing home staff in ser-
ving a light lunch.
Appreciation was expressed by the
nursing home staff and the members
of the Institute adjourned to the park
for a short business meeting with
