In Cromarty tourney
Hlbbert pee wee boys win

After a shaky inning near the end
of the game, Hibbert pee wee boys'
ball team managed to pull out a 12-7
win over Usborne and gain the A
championship trophy in the pee wee
playoffs in Cromarty, Sunday
evening.
The B championship went to Cen-
tralia who defeated Hensall in their
final game. Included in the playoffs
were teams from Hibbert, Usborne,
Crediton, Centralia and Hensall.
The final game of the girls' playoffs
was completed in the wee small hours
of Monday morning with Exeter II
taking home the A trophy -after
defeating Usborne I by 18 to 9.
Earlier in the day the B trophy was
presented to Exeter III who won out

Several from Clandeboye area at-
tended the "Old Time Fiddlers Con-
test" in Shelburne. on the weekend.
They were Clarence and Barbara
Carter, Alan and Ruth Hill, Charlie
and Betty Coughlin, Jack and Marion
Hodgson, Cec. and Marie Lewis,
Larry and Linda Lewis and Paul and
Betty Cronyn.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Adkins (nee
Janice Neil) of Winnipeg, visited last
week with Rea and Beth Neil and
other relatives in the area.
Betty Coughlin and Jean Hodgins of
Clandeboye Women's Institute, Flora
Robertson of Lucan W.I., Muriel
Lewis and Florence Riddell of Gran-
ton W.I. attended the London Area
Tweedsmuir History Curator's
Workshop, held at Mount Elgin,
Tuesday.
Horst Gebel of East Germany is
scheduled to arrive in Canada Mon-
day of this week to visit his brother,
Kurt Gebel, Rita Gebel and their
family. The Gebels haven't seen each
other for 36 years since Rita and Kurt
escaped from East Germany and
came to Canada in 1951

with Mrs. Joan McCormick.
Mr. and Mrs. Burns Blackler, and
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davis visited
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Fairbairn and Daine at Menneset
Park, Sunday afternoon.
Rev. Beverley Wheeler began her
ministry Sunday at the Parishes of
Kirkton, Saintsbury and Granton.
Rev. Bill Jones commenced his
duties as minister of Kirkton and
Woodham United Churches, Sunday.

playoffs started on Saturday morning
and ended about 12:45 a.m. Monday

ried in Carmel Presbyterian Church,
Hensall on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Bray and Mr.
and Mrs. Arnold Cann holidayed most
of last week at Sauble Beach.
Mrs. Howard Cunnington, Mrs.
Frank Maas, Exeter and Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Rohde visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Ross Hargreaves, Thamesford
Wednesday afternoon. The Rohdes
also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Ross at Kingsway Home in St. Marys
Wednesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Efford, Mr. and
Mrs. Phil Johns of Elimville were
Saturday night supper guests with
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rohde.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cooper, Exeter
accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dun-
can on a motor trip to the West Coast,
Alaska and the Yukon. They arrived
home Saturday evening. They arriv-
ed at Edmonton the next afternoon
after the tornado.
Laing attended the `Kirkin' 0' the
Tartan' church service in Knox
Presbyterian Church, Stratford on
Sunday. Taking part in the service
were Marilyn Zimmer who was a Tar-
tan Bearer, carrying the Gordon tar-
tan, and Lorraine Lindner who was a
member of the combined Knox and
St. Andrews choir.
During the afternoon, the first an-
nual Scottish Dance Festival, which
was to have been held in the park, was
held in Stratford Arena, with many
dance groups from southern Ontario
and one from as far as New York
State taking part.
Jennifer and Carrie Ann Lindner
and Scott Zimmer of Stratford are
holidaying this week with their grand-
parents, the Gordon and Bob Laings.
