We hope that everyone has en- joyed . their holidays. Several residents have enjoyed spending some holidays with their families. It's nice to go away, but there is no place like home. Happy birthday to Carmen BERTLING AND DOUGALL Jayne Catherine, daughter of William and Fern Dougall was united in marriage with Mork James, son of Thomas and Jean- nine Bertling of Delhi. Mark and Jayne exchanged wedding vows June 6, 1987 in Exeter United Church with Rev. Richard Hawley officiating. Pianist Margaret Coates, aunt of the bride and cellist Linda Smith provided the wedding music. The maid of honour was Carol Dougall, Toronto, sister of the bride. The best man was Scott Gooding, London, friend of the groom. Guests jetted in from as far away as Vancouver and Summerland, British Columbia. The couple is residing in Barrie. FORTHCOMING• MARRIAGE. - Bob and Bobbie Luxton of Exeter, Ontario and Frank and Sally Fiske of Pictou County, Nova Scotia are pleased to announce the engagement of their children David and Bonnie. ROBBIE PRYDE Lisa Louise Hamather and Robbie John Pryde were united in mar- riage in a double ring ceremony Saturday, August 8 at Hensall United Church with Rev. Doug Wright officiating. The bride is the daughter of Bob and Donna Hamather, Hensall and Bob and Norma Pryde, RR 1, Hensall are parents of the groom. Cathy Brown, London sister of the bride was maid of honour and bridesmaids were Mary Lynn Pryde, Hensoll, sister of the groom and Donna Prout, Oshawa and Joanne Malone, London, both friends of the bride. Terri Hamather, Exeter, niece of the bride was flower girl and ring bearer was John Pryde, Blenheim, nephew of the groom. The best man was Wayne Par- sons, Toronto, friend of the groom and guests were ushered by Tim Hamather, Exeter, brother of the bride; Doug Ray- mond, Toronto, friend of the groom and Brad Pryde, Port Elgin, brother of the groom. The organist was Mrs. Norma Pryde, mother of the groom and soloist was Mrs. Kathy Pryde, sister-in- law of the groom. The reception was at the South Huron Rec Cen- tre. We are sorry to see her go, but wish her luck in her future Authority speaker at Riverview Institute When the members of Riverview Women's Institute left the Masonic Hall, Ailsa Craig, after the August meeting, they were carrying pam- phlets and booklets about the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority. After they heard Earl Rees, the guest speaker, talk about the Authori- ty everyone wanted to learn more about it. In his address Earl gave some of the history of the Authority. It was established on July 30, 1946, the first Authority to be established ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Wes Witmer of Exeter celebrated their 54th wedding an- niversary Wednesday at the home of their son Mr. and Mrs. Leo Witmer in Woodstock. in Ontario. Earl also told the audience about the many Conservation Areas within the Authority and a few facts about the Ausable River which flows on the outskirts of Ailsa Craig. Sadie Walker, convener of the Agriculture and Canadian Industries committee was in charge of the program. In the business part of the meeting presided over by the president, Evelyn McNaughton, some of the ladies volunteered to contribute ar- ticles for a display to be entered at Western Fair. Margaret Wilson and Evelyn 1NcNaughton who were delegates at the 90th anniversary F.W.I.O. conven- tion in North Bay gave some highlights from the convention.
