Wildest Dreams'.
Each went for the casting try outs
in Toronto. Each was chosen to return
for the second auditions. Each attain-
ed a part in the play that has a cast
of only four. Apparently Jackie May.
the director, was not even aware they'
were a couple, and certainly showed
no favoritism.
Due to some planned auditioning
and skillful scheduling this is the fifth
show Tratt and Nairn have appeared
in together, beginning at the
Playhouse with 'Love in the Back
`:eat', then 'Noises Off'. and even
''Trafford 'I'anzi' in Saskatoon.
This energetic, dynamic pair along
with co-stars Land and Bealnish hold
forth the promise of a wild evening of
entertainment coming 11) August to
our (rand Bend area theatre.
'The story can have some touching
moments' claims Nairn as it deals
with some everyday problems that
everyone can relate to -- the boredom
of a relationship going nowhere, the
unfulfilled dreams. But here, the
author has chosen an unconventional
approach. 'to 'explore the problems
through humour. it's the lowest com-
mon denominator. if I laugh, you will
surely laugh too. And the music is
great' enthused Nairn.
Long -tinge theal regoers will
remember David Nairn as a member
of the original P.Z. Company.. short-
ly after graduating 111 years ago trust
the York University Theatre Pro-
gram. Ile also starred in 'Eighteen
Wheels'. 'Eight To The liar'. 'Rehm)
of The Curse OI The Mummy's
Revenge' and 'Stagefr•ight' here at
Huron Country Playhouse.
Maybe someday he will get into
producing shows or possibly direc-
ting. An actor 'gets tired of being
pushed around'• says Nairn with an
impish grin, so directing would put
him on the other side of the footlights.
'But. I'm not too sure that actors
David Nairn
make good directors. it's hard to see
the overall picture' he realizes.
Meanwhile, arra residents have a
real treat in store for them. Starting
August 11. all-time favorite Davit
Nairn will once again enliven the
cabaret setting of Playhouse II with
some energetic antics. great comic
moments and upbeat music' in 'Your
Wildest Dreams'.

Trivitt hits
century mark
• Sunday our congregation
celebrated the 100th anniversary of
the laying of the cornerstone for
Trivitt Memorial Church. The
ceremony took place on Aug. 1, 1887,
which was also known as 'Lammas
Day'
In ancient times, people always
made freshly baked bread on Lam-
inas Day, so it was fitting that those
early settlers, including Thomas and
Elizabeth Trivitt , chose that par-
ticular day to lay the stone. A fresh
start - the beginning of a new Chris-
tian Honkie for all of us who have
followed throughout the century. We
too. partook of freshly baked bread al
our Communion Service on Sunday.
In his sermon, based on Romans
8:31-39, Rev. .Vipperman enlarged
upon Paul's words. There is 00 need
for us to feel clown and 0111 or defeated
because we are really conquerors.
Nothing can separate us from the love
of G(xl. 'If God is for us, who then can
• be against us.' Jesus conquered all for
us at his crucifixion if a loving
father let his Son go through that
misery for us, then certainly that
Father will never IM us clown.
Special music was provided for the
service by our hectors daughter:
Donovan Vipperman, who sang 'The
Holy ('ily'.
Patty Dobbs and the three other
missionaries from Iluron Diocese
were remembered in a special
prayer. The team of four arrived al
Kingfisher Lake in Northern Ontario
on Friday last, and opened the sum-
mer Church School on August 1.
Next year's executive is President
Lorn Glanville, Vice -President Gor-
don Miller, Secretary -treasurer
Mable Glanville and Games Betty
Glanville.
Hope to sec you all the same time
and place next year.
