Ball Day at
Grand Bend 111u
Sue and Brian Pearen put out a
great effort and Saturday's Ball Day
for the Grand Bend Minor Softball
Association was one of the best. All
veighf divisioitsin the league fielded a
team, in spite of the heat, and the
thought of keeping cool in the lake.
The parents had it even tougher,
since some of them had more than
one youngster in the ball association.
Two and sometimes three hours on
the Legion diamond tested their
stamina. -
Ask any kid and they reluctantly
concede the kids won the tournament;
ask a parent, and you get the same
story. The real winners were the
families and friends who got out and
had a great fun day together.
Th'e lucky draw winner was Ryan
Taylor of the mites team. He will take
his $25.00 voucher to sponsor Rollie's
Sports Shop this week to redeem it for
new sports equipment.
After the games, most families
headed out to Best's to redeem the
donated ice cream voucher, or the
soft drink from Our Andrews. The
voucher from The Cheryl Ann for
fries can be used any day this week.
