A cheerful smile, a heart of gold, The dearest mom and grandma a world could hold. Lord put Your arms around her And keep her in Your care; Make up for all she suffered, And all that was unfair. The joys we shared together, Are the memories 1 hold dear And the happiness you gave to me, Keeps you forever near. You meant so much to me There is nothing I can say To tell the grief that's in my heart As I think of you today. I have lost my soul's companion, A life linked to my own And day by day I miss you more As I walk through fife alone. Sometimes it's hard to understand Why some things have got to be But in His wisdom God has planned Beyond our power to see. Just a prayer from one who loves you, Precious memories kind and true In my heart you live forever Because of my great love for you. Lovingly remembered by his wife Bertha. 27' PICKERING — In loving memory of a dear father and a veryspecial grand- father, Earl, who passed away- suddenly one year ago, July 10, 1986. From home in bed to heavenly rest, God took you home to be with Him. Lovingly remembered and missed by family and grandchildren. 27' RILEY — In loving memory of our dear daughter, Jennifer Lee, who passed away two years ago, July 8, 1985. Composed by John Roby, the music is in the style of the 1950s bebop era. It's played by band members John Roby (Keyboards), Alex Dean (sax- ophone), Brian O'Kane (trumpet), Steve Lucan (bass), and Mark Con - gram (drums) - and they manage to produce that wonderful sound from extremely cramped quarters! • The band sits directly behind the back wall of the Girls set, in a corridor -like space approximately 6' x 16'. They work in the dark with small lights on their music stands to illuminate the score. Strangely enough, the band members have never actually seen the performance on stage - they only hear what is hap- pening through their headsets! In ad- dition, the actors use one end of the musicians' "corridor" as an access to the stage, making for much to-ing and fro-ing in the dark confined space! One of the musicians, Mark Con - gram, has a local connection his parents are both originally from Wingham and his paternal grand- parents, Wilfrid and Elsie Congram, still reside there. Mark himself, spent many holidays at his grandparents' home when he was younger so he's no stranger to Huron County. If you haven't yet seen Girls in the Gang, there are still tickets available for most ' • rformances. Don't miss out on this terrific production - and some of the catchiest music in town. Lung group holds meeting Ttte annual meeting and dinner of the Lung Association, Huron -Perth Counties took place at the Stratford Country Club. Salim Remtulla, in his second year as president, indicated in his speech that the work of the Lung Association in the local area has been extensive. Health Education programs have increased and new programs have been introduced. Adults with chronic lung disease have benefitted as have children with asthma. People wishing to quit smoking have succeeded in do- ing so through the countdown courses and the school program has reached many students in the two counties. A large number of request' for informa- tion have been filled and industries and businessess are using Lung Association guidelines to develop their no smoking policies. The Christmas Seal Campaign showed a slight increase in income over the previous year and a new ap- peal is presently taking place. Medical research has been funded at the National and Provincial levels and support was also given to the In- ternational Union Against Tuberculosis. Remtulla expressed his apprecia- tion for the many hours of volunteer assistance and thanked Mrs. Betty Hunter, Executive Director, for her work throughout the year. 1 HENSALL YARD SALE — Venturer Rob Berends and Scout leader Bob Forrest display baked goods at a recent Hensall yard sale. Get new fees for prescriptions The Ontario government and the 'Ontario Pharmacists' Association have reached agreement on a -new dispensing fee for prescriptions filled under the government's Ontario Drug Benefit Plan:Health Minister Murray Elston and OPA President James Rogers announced. "Pharmacists will now be paid a dispensing fee of $5.93 for every ODB prescription the fill, up from the cur- rent $5.:12." Mr. Elston said. "The new rate, achieved after just three months of negotiating, demonstrates our government's ability to work with the health professions in a spirit of co- operation. I am extremely pleased." Mr. Rogers echoed Mr. Elston's comments and added that the agree- ment also recognized the OPA's dispensing cost analysis and its con- tinuing work with government to establish a dispensing cost data base to be used in future negotiations. Mr. Rogers said his association will'con- tinue to work with government to pro- vide quality prescription drugs at no cost to ODB recipients. The new amount is that recom- mended by provincial fact -finder Dr. John Gordon on May 26. 11 has since been accepted in a referendum by OPA members. The Ontario Drug Benefit Plan pays the cost of prescription drugs for more than 1.5 million Ontario citizens who are over the age of 65, or receiv- ing eceiving welfare or family allowance' assistance. 1111986-87, approximately 32 million claims, worth a total of more than $489 million, were filed under the plan. The new fee is retroactive to all ()DB prescriptions dispensed since December 1.1986. 1t will remain in ef- fect until November 30. 1987. The minister also announced that a revised Ontario Drug For- mulary/Comparative Drug Index is being delivered to pharmacists across the province. The new forumulary lists the price the government will reimburse pharmacists for approx- imately 2,460 quality -assured drugs dispensed under the ODB. It will take effect July 1, 1987. Doctors get OHM rise The Ontario government and the Ontario Medical Association have reached an agreement for a 4.83 per- cent increase in OHIP benefits payable to physicians for the period from April 1, 1987 to March 31, 1988, Health Minister Murray Elston an- nounced today. The increase wa'; recommended in a fact -finder's report. - The 4.83 percent average increase includes a 3.33 percent increase for the year plus a further 1.5 percent special adjustment to deal with the economic impact on the medical pro- fession of the Health Care Accessibili- ty Act, which banned extra -billing. As part of the agreement, the OMA and the government agreed that charges which constitute unaccep- table barriers to insured medical ser- vices are inappropriate and that they will work together to end such' practices. The government will also provide funding to reimburse physicians 100 percent of any premium increase ex- perienced in 1987 over 1986 for medical malpractice insurance.
