By MRS. WILLIAM ROHDE
Rev. K. Teddy Smits was in charge
of the church service Sunday morn-
ing at Elimville.
He told the children's story about
the crow and the fox. We sang the
children's hymn "This is•My Fathers
World". The Scripture lesson was
read from St. John 21:4-11. and
Revelation 21:1-8.
Rev. Smits took as his text John 21
verse 6 "Cast The Net on the Other
Side".
It was one of those bleak mornings
that greeted the disciples. They had
been fishing all night on the Lake of
Galilee and yet, they had caught
nothing. But a stranger was standing
on the shore, as they were coming in.
It was, when they came closer, the
Risen Christ.
He shouts over the water, did you
bring any fish for breakfast? Peter
yells back, we caught nothing all
night! Some scholars who went to the
Lake of Galilee say that the water is
so clear so one can see what's in the

water. Christ may have seen a school
of fish swimming toward Him, and He
yells "Cast the net on the otbre side".
The Risen Christ had more in mind .
than telling these men to cast the net
on the other side. They had gone back
to their old jobs of fishing. But Christ
- had intended to become fishers of
men. It was a different world. After
three years of study 'they were now
called upon 10 spread the good news.
So they are told!! Cast the net on the
other side.
There are many times in life when
we face changed conditions and we
must move the beacons, we must cast
the net on the,other side.
There are many times in life when
we face changed conditions and we
must move the beacons, we must cast
the net on the other side.
A marriage falls apart, a business
goes bankrupt, a serious accident
paralizes a young person, a son of a
good family is arrested on drug
charges. For a few weeks one is
numbed.
What direction shall we go now?
How can we turnpersonal tragedy in-
to a profit? Life never stays the same.
In Revelation 21 John says, "I saw a
new heaven and a new earth". One
day we come to a total change in this
life, in our bodies, and we leave it all
behind. A heavenly bod3 will greet its
Lord and join an army of triumphant
saints.
There will be an Official Board
meeting July 20 at 8:30 p.m. A good
attendance is hoped for.
Sunday July' 12 workship service
will be combined at Thames Road at
10 a.m.
Rev. K. Teddy and Mrs. Smits
formerly of Atwood moved into the
manse Thursday. We welcome them
to our community.

week at Camp Bimini.
