Beloved wife of the late Melvin Stanley
Overholt (1959); dear mother of Arnold of
London, Dennis of Zurich, Leo of London,
Philip of Zurich, Adeline (Mrs. Anthony
Denomme) of Zurich, Alma ( Mrs. Lennis
Regier) of London, Gladys (Mrs. Clare
Bedard) of Windsor, and Linda (Mrs.
Philip Regier) of Zurich. Dear sister of
Maxime Denomme) of Mississauga. Mrs.
Overholt is predeceased by 4 sons, Edsel,
Maxime, Anthony, and George, by 5
brothers, Armand, George, John, Ernest
and Albert, by 5 sisters, Sarah, Josephine,
Edith, Matilda, and Annie and 3 grand-
children. Also surviving are 46 grand-
children, 69 great-grandchildren, and 2
great -great grandchildren. Visitation in
the Zurich Chapel of Michael P. O'Connor

until Wednesday, July 1, then to St. Peter's
Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph for
celebration of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Vanastra curling grant
Tuckersmith Township Council
authorized Clerk -Treasurer Jack
McLachlan at its meeting Tuesday to
apply to the Ministry of Energy for an
energy grant for the installation of
Styrofoam .at the Vanastra Curling
Club.
Councillor Rowena Wallace was ap-
pointed to represent Tuckersmith on
the liaison committee of the Town of
Seaforth to investigate and to make
recommendations to the expansion
and upgrading of the town's sewage
treatment facilities.
Council granted permission to the
Seaforth Men's Industrustrial Ball
League to have a special occasion
permit for their tournament at the
Seaforth Lions Park on the weekend
of August 21, 22 and 23.
Tuckersmith Township will apply to
the Ministry of the Environment for
a grant to block some of the windows
in the municipal office in Vanastra at
a cost of $850 approximately.
Council endorsed the purchase by
Stanley Township of a 1987 Chev
chassis and tank, including a light bar
and pump; at a eost-of $45,107.,
Council authorized the reeve and
clerk to sign the offer to purchase an
easement from Mr. and Mrs: Nelson
McClure, Mr. and Mrs. John Racho,
Mrs. Janet Dearing and Mr. and Mrs.
.Bruce Austin for the Egmondville
sewers.
The tender of Harry Greidanus of
Goderich for the installation of siding
and insulation for the Vanastra pool
building for $18,735 was accepted.
Doug Poulton, road superintendent,
was authorized to install pressure
tanks at the No 1 Egnioiidville Well
at an approximate cost of $3,281.54.
Council will not allow Hickenbot-
tom catch basins for drains to be in-
stalled on municipal road allowances.
No objections will be made by
Council to a severance application by
Allan Nicholson of Egmondville on
Lot 5, Plan 237 in Egmondville.
Council endorsed a resolution from
regional municipality of Peel which
requests the Province of Ontario to
exact legislative amendments as re-
quired to grant clear and direct
authority for municipalities to discon-
nect sewage connections.
The Tuckersmith Telephone
System has purchased land from the
Doig and the Bender properties for
switching stations in upgrading the
system.
Attending the council session were
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Holland to hear the
discussion on their application for
rezoning Part of Lot 35, Concession 1,
Huron Road survey, from Agriculture
1 to Agricullure 3 and a portion of the
properly from Agriculture 1 to
Developmental.
Wayne Caldwell of the Huron Coun-
ty Planning Department, who was at
the meeting also, advised council that
notices of the public meeting had been
forwarded to all property owners
within 400 feet of the proposed rezon-
ing and to the government agencies
as required by the Planning Act.
There were no members- of the
general public at the meeting to
discuss the rezoning. Mr. Caldwell
outlined with Council the reasons and
intentions for the rezoning.

Institutes to meet in North Bay
"Building For Tomorrow" is the
theme for the 90th anniversary of the
Women's Institutes of Ontario found-
ed on February 19, 1967. To mark this
occasion, Federated Women's In-
stitutes of Ontario (FWIO) are plan-
ning a Provincial Convention to be
held at the Pinewood Park Motel,
North Bay from July 6-9, 1987. Over
1000 members will gather to reflect
upon the past, decide where they
stand today and project a vision for
the future. -
Addressing the assembly will be
Mrs. Margaret Munro, president of
FWIO from Carp; Mrs. Beatrice
Reeves, president of Federated
Women's Institutes of Canada, from
Charlottetown, P.E.I.; and Dr. Ellen
McLean, president of Associated
Countrywomen of the World from
Eureka, N.S. Other speakers on
special topics include R. Alex Sim,
"The New Rural Community";
Rosalie Wysocki, "Motivation, Poten-
tial and You" and Libbylu Allen,
FWIO International Scholarship reel-
pient from Jamaica.
A panel led by the moderator, Mrs.
Peggy Knapp, will discuss the subject
"Rural Woman- An Emerging
Force". Panel members are Joyce
Canning, Rural Women's Coor-
dinator; Carol Ilyde, Junior Women's
Institute; Rebecca Johnson, FWIO;
Brigit Pyke, Ontario Federation of
Agriculture; and Dianne Harking,
Women for the Survival of
Agriculture.
Because Women's Institute is an
educational organization promoting
personal growth and community bet-
terment, workshops will be another
prime opportunity for the attending
members to become better informed
