our strawberry social. that was held
on Friday afternoon from 2-4:30 p.m.
We had a terrific turn -out, and the
- weather couldn't have been better.
The strawberry social had a very
special goal for all of us this year. and
that was to raise money for the
Alzheimer Association. All proceeds
from the social will be donated to this
very worthwhile organization.
A day like Friday can not be so suc-
cessful without a lot of dedicated peo-
ple who put in a lot of time au(' effort
to help us out.
To begin we'd like to thank the
ladies from the Zurich Mennonite
Church for coming in and serving the
delicious strawberries, ice cream.
cake and not to mention the whip
cream. You all did a super job and
thank you very much.
Throughout the afternoon we en-
joyed super entertainment by our own
residents as well as our welcomed
guests. Victoria Bisback began our
afternoon of music and song with two
songs from the hit broadway show
Annie. Victoria did a great job and
our other entertainment included
Lloyd McDougall who whistled. and
Lucille Jeffrey and Carol Gascho who
sang a beautiful duet. To.top off our
afternoon, George Mathonia and
Friends popped by to entertain us
with some great music, which was en-
joyed by everyone.
We also had a raffle which was a
huge success. Our lucky winners were
as follows: prize 4, animal stories,
Velma Robinson. prize :3, storybook,
Amy '!.wart: prize 2, cookbook. Don-
na Allen, prize 1, afghan, Grace Eyre
We'd like to .congratulate all our
winners plus those who supported this
year's raffle by buying.a ticket.
Last but not least we'd like to thank
all of Queensway staff for being ver
supportive and helping us out all
afternoon before, during and after the
event. We appreciated your help and
patience very much.
Well. like I said at the beginning, we
did have a busy week, and an exciting
one as well. That's it for now, we'll
talk to you next week!
