Golden j(i npies
Maybe it is just blue Monday, but
it does seem to be more fall like than
summer. Summer time is sometimes
rather quiet here since many people
have their own routines to follow,
although we do look forward to
visitors who might be going through
our area. However, our programmes
are as usual with morning discus-
sions, exercises, sing -a -longs, cookie
baking, some good lively euchre
games and shuffleboard tournaments
and all the activities in the hobby
shop. Bingo on Friday evenings is
always a big drawing card.
Open house was held on Wednesday
afternoon by the family of Mrs.
1lagdalene Jantzi in honour of her
90th birthday. Visitors attended from
the Baden, New Hamburg, and Kit-
chener areas as well as the surroun-
ding district. Her son Laverne and his
family of Pennsylvania also attended.
The sympathy of residents and staff
. is extended to the family of the late
Mrs. Beatrice Overholt, a long time
resident of the home.
We regret that Mrs. Verlyn Fisher
is a patient in South Huron Hospital.
Exeter,and Mrs. Margaret Adams is
a patient in General & Marine
Hospital, Goderich. John Miller has
returned from St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
While out on one of the regular bus
tours this week, some of the residents
had the opportunity to visit and tour
the Stanley Township Complex which
was arranged by their faithful
volunteer, Marc Chalut.

Dick Rau asked what procedure
should be followed on property water
lines already installed but not in-
spected. Potter suggested that the
lines be tested at 150 psi at the
owner's expense, adding that if a
coupling was used it should be dug up
and also tested at 150 psi at the
owner's expense.
Signed petitions asking the
township to install distribution
systems, accompanied by the re-
quired easement status, have been
received and accepted from Norman
Heights, Poplar Beach, Shadeview,
Highlands i, 2 and 3, and Lakewood
Gardens subdivisions with signs
stating "This road has -not been
assumed by the municipality of the
corporation of the township of Hay."
The lowest. percentage of signators
to any petition was 60 percent, and the
highest was 89. All were well above
the required 51 percent.
The petitions have been forwarded
to the engineer, who will draft the
bylaws governing the installation,
operation, maintenance and cost fac-
tors of the distribution system, and
submit them to Hay council.
Construction of the main line has
been delayed because the 14 -inch fit-
tings needed to oversize the pipleline
to allow Stanley township to hook in
later have to be specially manufac-
tured. The contractor does not want
to begin until all needed material has
been procured:
Hay Reeve Lionel Wilder stated his
belief the line will still be completed
by the scheduled date of September
11 if the connectors arrive soon.
No disbribution system will he
hooked up until all lines are blow -
tested and flushed.
