the Father. We all need a father
enough like us to identify with him
and enough unlike us to completely
depend upon Him. Earthly fathers
have the same limitations we do - they
don't have all the answers, they fail
us, they leave, they die.
Jesus used the idea of God the
Father as the central reality of his
teaching, to heal the breach in our
relationship caused by our sins and
restore the loving trust between God
and man. God is our wise, strong,
heavenly Father, and we ought to be
His loving children.

United Church Women
A happy mother's week floral spray
adorned the table for the afternoon
unit of United Church Women's
meeting, held in the SS rooms at
church last Thursday afternoon. The
opening worship was given by Annie
Morenz, on a theme of mothers. She
read a mother's verson of love which
is a paraphrase of the well known 13th
chapter of I Corinthians applied to the
homemaker.
Two verses of the hymn "Come let
us sing of a wonderful love," were
repeated by all. The story of one
mother's love was read by Mrs.
Morenz about a son who left home for
overseas, and many years later, by a
strange coincidence found his
mother's Bible among some books
along with a letter. This changed his
life and he became a devoted
Christian.
The worship service concluded with
Beulah Holt singing the chorus of M-
