Women receive grant
Women Today of Huron County will
receive a $13,500 grant from the On-
tario Ministry of Health to produce a
video and support material for a pro-
ject dealing with health promotion fpr
rural women, Jack Riddell MPP for
Huron -Middlesex announced on May
11.
Making the announcement on
behalf of llealth Minister Murray
Elston, Riddell said the grant will
help the group to design, produce and
distribute a video and package of
material for its Women Being Well
pil•oject.
Earlier this year another provincial
government agency, the Women's
Directorate, agreed to provide $15,000
towards the $28,500 project.

place at St. John's • Anglican
Church, Cayuga, Saturday, April
25, 1987. The 5 p.m. service in-
cluded best men Elwood Maracle,
brother of the groom and George
Miller, fellow officer, matron of
honour Linda Holrnes, sister of
the bride, and Patty Miller.
Mother of the bride is Mrs.
Shirley Field, Mitchell and the
parents of the groom are Herb
and Audrey Maracle of- Tyen-
dinaga Reserve, tYeseronto.
After residing in. Cayuga, the
couple will transfer to Northern
Ontario.

women's health issues and encourage
women to take responsibility for their
own health," Riddell said.
The video and accompanying
material will allow groups of in-
dividuals to explore the profile of self-
help groups for women in Huron
County, as well as the health promo-
tional potential of such groups. It will
also allow examination of the way
that Women Today co-ordinates and
assists the formation of these groups.
Riddell saiid Women Today is a well
recognized ,group that helps rural
women to learn to help themselves.
The organization works closely with
other health service providers in
Huron and Perth Counties.
New executive at work
The first meeting of the Mt. Carmel
('.W.L. under the direction of the new
executive was held May 12. Holl Call
was "How did you spend Mother's
Day?" and was answered by 31
members.

presented Diane Kaak with her past
president's pin.

are parents of the groom.
Carolyn Love, Zurich, was maid
of honour and bridesmaids were

Yantzi, Waterloo and Elaine
Love -Hampton, Kitchener. Brian
Steckle, Zurich was best man and
guests were ushered by Wayne
Gingerich, Zurich, Rob Steckle,
Bayfield and Gord Hampton, Kit-
chener. Bradley Mumaw, Ohio
was ring bearer and the flower
girl was Amy -Jean Love, Varna.
Sharia Nafziger was the soloist.
The couple has taken up
residence in Zurich.

Further plans were made for Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel centennial
celebrations to be held July 4 and 5.
Also discussed was the C.W.L. Na-
tional Convention to be held in Lon-
don, August 18-20.
