As a member of the Canadian
Cancer Society and a participant in
the annual campaign for funds to fight
against cancer, I want to briefly tell
you about our up -coming special
event which will help us to reach our
goal this year. We at Exeter have had
such events as The Sale of Daffodils,
Fashion Shows, Ski-a-Thon, and the
Ladies Ride for Cancer etc.
This year we are bringing a
talented group called the "Aggrega-
tion" from Sarnia to put on a spec-
tacular show planned to please the
whole family. This group is so popular
and in demand for their perfor-
mances that we have had to wait over
two years to engage them. Their
talented voices bring to us light and
beautiful music of Broadway and top
songs from old and new great movies.
As well they present very humorous
and delightful comedy in duets,
quartettes and various groups all the
way up to about 40 voices in harmony.
Their costumes are original, colorful
and sometimes very funny as they
play the parts of the Pink Panther,
The Mouse and Elephant, Giraffes, or
the Rubber Ducky.
Some of the full voice group
numbers have been Cabaret, The
World is a Rainbow, New York New
York, Guys and Dolls, Disney
Medley, What a Wonderful World to
mention only a few.
The group provide their own or-
chestra, properties, sound, lighting
etc. and about 20 people are required
to put on the show.
The leader of the Aggregation is
Mr. Art Christmas a talented musi-
cian and director, music teacher at
the St. Clair Secondary School and
energetic band master of the Sarnico
Citizens Band. During the last 12
years since the singing aggregation
was formed, they have raised and
distributed $90,000.00 to a staggering
number of associations, agencies,
societies, hospitals and churches.
They come to us free of charge for
their time and expenses. They urge us
to fill all seats in the South Huron
District High School auditorium
which could net us four to five- thou-
sand dollars.
Art Christmas is a great supporter
and booster for the work of the Cana-
dian Cancer Society, and says that he
is walking and living proof that
cancer can be beaten if detected in
time.

Society scouted the Aggregation in

March 1985 and I personally have at-
tended two of their sell out shows in
Sarnia. 1 can vouch that it is truly
spectacular family entertainment.
The Art Christmas Aggregation
strive to make their next perfor-
mance their best. Since the next one
comes to Exeter on June 61987 we are
indeed fortunate.
The only qualification we have to
meet is that we must pre -sell at least
300 tickets before May 30. The reason
for this is explained by Mr. Christmas
and I quote - "When we come to Ex-
eter with two trunks of equipment and
two buses filled with people there is
considerable time and expense in-
volved which we pre -pay. You pay us
nothing except your good response
and enjoyment of our program and
we perform best when we have a good
audience."
So we are asking once again for
community support. The purchased
price of a single ticket will do three
things. It will send $6.00 to support
and direct the work of the Canadian
Cancer Society, it will provide you
with an outstanding evening enter-
tainment, and for Art Christmas and
his Aggregation it will give satisfac-
tion in helping those who are in great
need of our support.

We are told, our patronage ap
pointed Premier Peterson, was a big
factor in Quebec signing the constitu-
tion. Great! Now the Quebecers can
wake up to the fact, that they have
lost the privilege of owning private uw
property, like the rest of us in Canada:
When the constitution and charter
was drafted in '81 the B.A. Act was
partly incorporated into it, but Chre-
tien (Lib) and Romanow (1V.D.P. ) in-
sisted that the clause which had
always entitled Canadians to own
private property, be dropped from the
new constitution.
The present Government have not j,
yet restored this right, as promised. •
Tough luck Quebec. NEW HOMES ON TREES — Cheryl Ballantyne and Allison Jaques. of
Geo. Shaw Usborne Central School are putting up a bird house at Morrison Dam.
