Mount Carmel Parish was guest
celebrant at the weekend Masses at
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The reader for the 10 a.m. mass was
Billy Spindler, the community
distributors were Philip Walker and
Gerry Dacia. Choir director Lydia
Duchou was cantor and the choir sang
'Hail Festival Day' at Communion.
In his sermon, Father Fleming
spoke of Christ's Body as reflected in
the community of the Mystical Body
of Christ. All who are baptized are
part- of this Mystical Body, through
Confirmation we become responsible
adults and participants in that
Mystical Body; each one of us is a liv-
ing cell called to be as productive as
possible.
At . conclusion of mass, Father
Fleming announced that Pastor -
Father Robert Morrissey has been
transferred. He was due to be moved
by the Bishop and has volunteered to
serve in the Edmonton Diocese,
where there is a critical shottage of
priests. Father Paul Beck, presently
in Windsor, will assume his new
duties as pastor here in early July.
Father Morrissey 'will remain until
then.

United Church
The sacrament of communion was
observed Sunday at the GB United
Church. Elizabeth Norris and Millie
Kane welcomed the congregation in-
to the service.
Elizabeth Adams read the two
lessons from Genesis 28:10 and John
15:5-17 wherein Rev. R. Peebles bas-
ed his topic "Why Communion?"
He said that communion is special
as everyone needs a quiet moment,
growth and duty to God while obser-
ving the elements. Peebles told the
children that traffic lights are not at
every corner. At those corners you
have to watch out for you and the
truth street, you and honesty street.
and you and purity street. When you
cut corners in life you may hurt
someone.

- Church of God
Worshippers at the Church of God
were greeted .by Art and Dorothy
Thompson on Sunday. The call to wor-
ship was contained in a verse from
Proverbs 3:6, "In all your ways,
acknowledge Him, and -He will direct
your paths." Leyland Desjardine
sang "When I've Gone the Last Mile
of the Way," accompanied by his wife -
Eileen -at the piano: Pastor Desjar-
dine's sermon was titled "Anxious for
Heaven", from II Corinthians 5.
Most people would agree that they
want to go to Heaven, but if God call-
ed them today, they would not be
ready, or desirous of leaving this
world. St. Paul was -anxious to leave
this earth and to be with Jesus, yet
while he had to live on earth, he was
active in his service for God.
TheChurch of God would like to in-
vite people to Sunday School, as there
are classes for all ages each Sunday
