Grand Bend council had three
delegations at their first meeting in
May Monday night.
Mark Frezell, London, excited
council with an entirely new proposal
for swimmers only. Based on an
Australian idea, he passed around
sketches of his 40' by 20' water tram-
poline. The floating device requires
nine feet of water which means here
it would have to be at least 100 metres
out in the lake. Frezell said that it
would be anchored and hoped to in-
stall it in late June until September.
This huge trampoline contains two
slides on it. including one which you
have to climb up into the ('row's nest
granted, for 91.00 each which entitles
15 minutes on the trampoline. When
asked how people get out to the tram-
poline, Frezell said you have to swim
out. It's for swimmers only, he
repeated.
Reeve Harold Green thought the
idea- was great but was concerned
with the swimming back and forth.
Councillor Marsha Lemon didn't like
the whole concept. For safety
reasons,' she said that younger
children would try to swim out (here
and it's not salt water here. It's easier
to drown in Lake Huron. Deputy -
reeve Dennis Snider told the young
businessman how rough Lake Huron
to slide down from. Ile plans on sell- could become and asked what would
ing tickets from land i Pier Booth) if happen if a boat hit the trampoline.

safer by far because when you fall off
the machine it stops right there, he
said. He planned to start renting the
wave runners from the river behind
the Pier Booth, and if not acceptable
there he would rent a dock.
Snider told Collins their problem
was not with the wave runners but
with the attitude of his employees.
"Last year the harbour staff and
beach patrol disliked them. as well
the drivers were a hazard to swim-
mers", he added. Collins said that he
would pay his '86 bills before starting
again this year, sign a bond
($1,000.00) and stop operating at coun-
cil's request if there was any
problem. -
Ile informed council that his boat -
was stolen and sunk at south beach,
and he hoped for a more prosperous
season in '87.
