Rev. Lorne Keays' sermon on Sun-
day April 26 at St. Andrew's was call-
ed "Advertisements" - Who Believes
Them?" Barb Cooper accompanied
the hymns on the organ.
Following the church service an
open house was held for Bob and
Frances Kinsman who are leaving the
area. The Kippen community will be
sorry to see them go, but wish them
well in their new abode.

for new graderIine

The contribution was provided
under the Defence Industry Produc-
tivity Program, the objective of which
is to develop and maintain strong
defence-related industries across
Canada. Developing advanced
technology for defence-related pro-
ducts and production processes is one
of the program's major goals. It is us-
ed by companies in a wide range of
industry sectors to assist viable pro-
jects aimed at domestic and export
markets. These sectors include elec-
tronics, avionics, transportation
equipment and engines, machinery,
navigation equipment, metallurgy
and materials.and space technology.
Champion Road Machinery
Limited of Goderich will receive a
repayable federal contribution of
$4,683,000 to manufacture a new line
of road graders.
The announcement was made at a
news conference on behalf of Michel
Cote, Minister of Regional Industrial
Expansion, by Murray Cardiff,
Member of parliament for Huron -
Bruce. Cardiff said the funds will be
used towards estimated total costs of
$9,996,000 for the project, which is ex-
pected to create 150 new jobs within
five years.
Champion plans to acquire advanc-
ed production .equipment and
redesign its grader lines for military
markets.
"This is an important project as it
will enable Champion to compete
worldwide for military orders, which
represent 15 to 20 percent of grader
markets," Cardiff said. "It should
