250 watt high pressure sodium for
Main Street under the ONiP

a quiet soft light, easier for roadway

cerns about the new car wash, to be
installed near their homes. The con-
do executive was introduced by Orton
Logan, spokesman for the group.
Logan asked council what type of car
wash it was, and their main concern
was the water run-off area. He told
council that a car wash produces a lot
of water and they didn't want it flow-
ing into their basements etc. or
damaging the greenery. He also
wanted to know how high the propos-
ed wall between the properties was
going to be?
Deputy -reeve Dennis Snider told
the group that the car wash would be
sitting on lop of a foundation already
there. He went on to explain that by
law, this water will run into the sewer.
"There's a storm sewer at the front
of the property on highway 21" he
assured them. .
Doug Martin and Logan were in-
formed that the village engineer had
not approved the car wash yet. The
engineer has not received the draw-
ings of the building and drainage plan
to date. Council told the delegation
that most people washed their cars in
the daytime, and not at night.
Therefore, there was no need to worry
about the hours of the car wash
operation.
Logan thanked council for taking
the time to explain some of the details
concetning their executive and
residents alike.
The third delegation was an• in -
camera matter with their chief
building inspector. County of Lamb -
ton, Dallas McColl and his assistant.
Councillor Barb Southcott reported
on the village animal control. She said
that it was quite a concern and there
was no solation to the problem right
now. She said that the shelter in
Zurich only retains them for three
days. and a dog catcher in lfensall on-
ly acts on complaints. it costs $75.00
per dog. •
She told council that about 35 peo-
ple showed up at the Pinery Provin-
cial Park, to air their concerns about
the 100 acre burn. She said that it will
be a contained/controlled fire and will
produce new vegetation in a natural
way. Southcott received full literature
on the planned burn from park
superintendent, Ray Bonenbert.
Snider reported that the GB and
area chamber of commerce propos-
ed on moving Burgerfest activities to
the GB soccer field, beside. the GB .
Legion. it was felt that damae might
occur to the soccer grounds. it will b
located on the beach for this June.
In other business, council accepted
the quotation of Doug Jennison Con-
tracting inc., GB. for the construction
of a new parking lot. it will be located
behind the village public works
building and fife department
building. Jennison's quote of $5,784.50
was satisfactory, provided the catch
basins are perfected and lids are in-
cluded. council said.
Sidewalk quotations were accepted
from contractor Bruce Stanlake. GB.
to do Sauhle Road and Main Street
under the ONIP program.
Council accepted a proposal from
Nick Carter. Sun/Surf Shop owner.
for the operation of the village
beach/bath house for the summer of
'87. Carter • will rent if for
52,000.00/season, with the- right to
operate four pop machines.
Gordon Brown, Oak Street, was
authorized to be in charge of schedul-
ing the Grand Bend ball diamona for
the 1987 season.
Council approved the hiring of
Catherine Johns, RR 3 Exeter. under
the IMA program. She began work
last Monday at the village office, and
