The roll call was payment of fees. Eight members were present. Good reports were given by the con- veners and the new slate of officers for the year was presented by Mrs. Roy Cunningham and were installed by district director Mrs. Arnold Lewis. Easter service at the United Church next Sunday will be at 11:15 a.m. with Holy Communion. Jack and Gwen Andrews, Edmon- ton spent a few days recently with Gwen's brother. An Easter Cantata "Crimson Bridge" will be presented at Faith Tabernacle on Good Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. anniversary celebration. June 6 was chosen as a suitable date for a Clandeboye Community History Tea to be held in St. James Church. Jean Ilodgins and Mary Scott were appointed.as delegates to the North Middlesex District annual on May 12 at Beechwood. The Red Cross Blood Clinic, which Clandeboye and Lucan Women's In- stitute sponsor is to be held April 30 in Lucan Community Centre. Phone lists were handed out. Members were also reminded to bring their desserts for the "Dessert Euchre" Tuesday. St. James Church euchre party was held Tuesday night. High scores went to Lena Stokes and Murray Carter. Lone hands, Margaret Carter and Roy Cunningham. Low scores Hazel Cunningham, and Lawrence Hirtzel. Extra prizes were won by Betty Gilbert, Kay Armstrong. Andy and Marion Thompson. The next party will be April 21 and will be the last one for this season. Lutheran ladies visit Dashw.00d By MRS. IRVIN RADER The Lutheran Women's Missionary League rally was held in Dashwood with two busloads coming from Strat- ford, Mitchell and other areas as well as Goderich and Exeter. Jean anti Bob Smith gave a slide presentation from Sierra Leone. A lovely lunch was served with the tables decorated by Jill Stojkovic. Dashwood Seniors will meet April 20 at 8 o'clock. Spring rally 'The 12th spring rally of zone 8 United Senior Citizens of Ontario met April 7 at Dashwood Community Cen- tre hosted by Dashwood "Good Com- panions" and the Grand Bend "Golden Age" Senior Citizens Clubs. Lunch was provided by Grand Bend Golden Age Club in Dashwood Com- munity Centre courtesy of Dashwood Good Companions. Elmer Hayter presided and devo- tions were by Vicar Larry, Stojkovic, Dashwood Lutheran Minister. The welcome was given by Reeve Thos. J. Tomes of Stephen Township. Three-minute reports were given by secretaries of Goderich, Exeter, Bayfield, Grand Bend, Clinton, Blyth, Stanley, Seaforth, Hensall, Zurich, Dashwood, Holmesville, Auburn, Dungannon and Londesboro clubs. Guest speaker was Alex Mansfield, first vice-president of United Senior Citizens of Ontario. John Patterson of Seaforth spoke regarding the Tri- ('ounty Senior games. Door prizes were won by John Deenes, Pearl Taylor, Alex Hamilton, Lillie Becker, Shirley Preszcator, Beulah Mackay, Hazel Snell, Aldene Wolfe, Lloyd Rader and Nellie Weigand. UM annual The 25th annual meeting of the Lon- don Conference United Church Women was held at Metropolitan United Church Monday and Tuesday. Attending the Monday and Tuesday sessions and the 25th celebration ser- vice in the evening were Rita Chandler, Grace Merner and Maida Gaiser. Dr. Ann Squire, moderator of the United Church gave the sermon topic "On the Way to the Cross." The ladies also visited Mary Neeb in Parkwood hospital. Ladies' Guild Zion Lutheran ladies guild met Wednesday evening and listened to Pastor Larry Stojkovic preach the Lenten service. The ladies later gathered in the Sunday school rooms. Fifteen members and one guest were present. Mrs. Gordon Kraft and Mrs. Frieda Hayter are the altar guild while Mrs. Frieda Keller and Mrs. Earl Keller are the visiting committee. The youth will be selling cards. May 12 will be the mother and daughter supper with guests from the United Church and Goderich. Shirley Keller will be guest speaker. Dashwood W.I.
