Pinery naturalist shows
local -seniors his domain
Exeter senior elt1ietjb wetlefnvited
to take advantage •of the special
privileges offered them by the pro-
vince to visil•their parks and especial-
ly the Pinery Provincial Park ,south
of GrandBend by, Casey Vanden
Bygaart; naturalist all the Pinery.
He showed excellent slides of the
camping, hiking, skiing, bicycle, pic-
nic and fishing facilities. Birds shown
included_ the bluebird. cardinal, red -
eyed vireo, scarlet tanager, grosbeak,
oriole, turkey vulture, woodcock,
owls, geese and ducks.
There were many wild flowers like
the gentian, lupins, bleeding hearts

and others. Squirrels, chipmunks, tur-
tle. deer, hog -nosed snake and a
beaver lodge were shown in their
natural habitat.
Artist Glen Loates, other artists,
tunateurs and photographers take ad-
vantage of the beautiful scenery and
sunsets throughout the whole year.
Slides made from old pictures and
post cards of GrandBend and St.
Joseph about 80 .years ago brought
back memories to many and were of
interest to all.
Casey was introduced by Elsie Jory
and thanked by Pat Skinner.
Elsie was in charge of the program
and read a humorous poem, 'My Day
011'' and a joke.
Pat presided the the business, ope-
ing with 0 Canada and the Lord's
Prayer. We were reminded again of
the aerobic moonwalk May 22-31 and
urged to get prepared.
Mildred Thomson reported n the
'Gone 8 Spring Rally at Dastlwood.
Pio and Gladys Skinner were ap-
• pointed delegates to the convention at
Guelph university in August.
The April Villa bingo will be run by
Len and Mabel McKnight and Huth
Skinner and Pat Skinner.
Birthdays and anniversaries were
acknowledged, Sam and Verna
Bower are celebrating their 47th.
Len McKnight reported on the
Senior Rental Geared -to -Income
housing project. More low income ap-
plicants are needed.
Alva Heywood told of the successful
bus trip to an Irish program at
Kitchener.
An hour of card playing was en-
joyed by many. Lunch and program
committee were Ruth Skinner, M.
Bridges, L. and E. Jory, M. Brock, M.
Funk. M. Fulton, L. Learn, II and B.
Cooper, I. Love, T. Pollen, M. Thom-
son, A. wenn and F. Roulzon.

Thames Road United Church on
December 27, 1986. Janice
Stewart, Vancouver was her
sister's maid of honour and
bridesmaids were Nancy Knight,
London and Leona Lucas, Ot-
tawa. Flowergirl was Erin Knight,
London. Paul Miner, Toronto,
friend of the groom was best
man. The ushers were the bride's
brother Michael Stewart, Kirkton
and Kenneth Coward, Kitchener.
After a short honeymoon at the
Benmiller Inn the happy couple
reside in Richmond B.C.
