This house, built in 1865 by John Strang; is similar to homes built in Scotland at the same time and is on example of other stone houses built in this area by John Strong. it has been the Strang family home for over 4 generations and is presently occupied by Keith Strong and his family. It is also important for its use as the Township's municipal office from 1919 to 1935 and from 1947 to 1965. During these 2 periods. John's son Henry (1919-1935) and Henry's son Harry (1947-19.65) served as municipal clerk from these premises.
