annual meeting of the Hamilton and
London Synodical on April 21 and 22.
The theme of this year's synodical
is "Communicate our Faith, Say it!
Show it! Share it!" The guest speaker
will be Donald 0. Stephens, who is
director of communication services
for the Presbyterian Church in
Canada. He is the elected chairman
of the C.B.C. advisory committee on
religion.
There will also be Bible study,
workshops and fellowship during the
'two day sessions.
Mrs. Robert J. McTavish of
Shakespeare is the president of the
Stratford -Huron Presbyterial and
Mrs. Gordon Alexander and Mrs.
Derek Nind of Listowel are co -
conveners of this year's Synodical. All'

INTENTION TO DESIGNATE
HERITAGE BUILDING
In the matter of the Ontario Heritage Act, 1980, R.S.O. Chapter 337, Part
4, And in the matter of the lands and premises set out below. in the Pro-
vince of Ontario: Notice of Intention to Designate.
Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of
Usborne, on the 20th day of January, 1987 decided to designate the lands
and buildings, set out below as a property of historical value in interest
under the Ontario Heritage Act, 1980, R.S.O. Chapter 337, Part 4. .Short
statement of the reasons for the proposed designation:
The Strang Farm House, Lot 29, Concession 3, Usborne Township has been
recommended for designation for historical and architectural reasons.
This house, built in 1865 by John Strang; is similar to homes built in
Scotland at the same time and is on example of other stone houses built
in this area by John Strong. it has been the Strang family home for over
4 generations and is presently occupied by Keith Strong and his family.
It is also important for its use as the Township's municipal office from
1919 to 1935 and from 1947 to 1965. During these 2 periods. John's son
Henry (1919-1935) and Henry's son Harry (1947-19.65) served as municipal
clerk from these premises.
