T -A photo At Thames Road UCW Roll By MRS. WILLIAM ROHDE itev. Robert Matheson was in charge of the Fourth Sunday in Lent church service on Sunday morning. The responsive reading was Psalm 43. The children's hymn was sung "He's got the Whole World". Rev. Robert Matheson told the children's story "Helping Hands Helping Hands," The scripture lesson was read from Hosea 5:15-6:2, Ephe- sians 5:8-14, Matthew 20:17-28. The sermon was entitled "From top to bottom: from bottom to top' . Our scripture from Hosea sees the world operating on momentum. When I was young I became interested in building soapbox cars. We would con- struct a car out of scrap lumber and baby carriage wheels (or wheels off of something similar i. We would steer the car using ropes in our hands and eventually placed a rope driven steer- ing wheel in the car. The car ran on momentum 7 star- ting at the top of a hill and gaining speed as it went down. What I remember most of my experience with these cars was taking them home to repair them after hitting a bump on the course we were using and running straight into a grove of trees or shrubs. Hosea saw the world operating in much the same way as these cars WMS meets at Cromarty By MRS. By doing this they hoped to keep evil influences out and to preserve the purity of their Hindu religion. The United Mission to Nepal now works there, but under very strict governmental control. Under penal- ty of death no Nepalese person is allowed to change his Hindu religion to any other form of religion. The closing hymn was I Have Decided to Follow Jesus, which was written by a prince of Assam, a pro- vince of India.
