NIRITAGI BUILDING
In the matter of the Ontario Heritage Act, 1980, R.S.O. Chapter
337, Part 4, And in the matter of the lands and premises set
out below, in the Province of Ontario: Notice of Intention to
Designate.
Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Usborne, on the 20th day of January, 1987 decided to
designate the lands and buildings, set out below as a property
of historical value in interest under the Ontario Heritage Act,
1980, R.S.O. Chapter 337, Part 4. .Short statement of the reasons
for the proposed designation:
The Strang Farm House, Lot 29, Concession 3, Usborne Township
has been recommended for designation for historical and ar-
chitectural reasons. This house, built in 1865 by John Strang,
is similar to homes built in Scotland at the same time and is
an example of other stone houses built in this area by John
Strang. It has been the Strang family home for over 4 genera-
tions and is presently occupied by Keith Strong and his family.
It is also important for its use as the Township's municipal of-
fice from 1919 to 1935 and from 1947 to 1965. During these 2
periods, John's son Henry (1919-1935) and Henry's son Harry
(1947-1965) served as municipal clerk from these premises.
NOTICE OF OBJECTION TO THE DESIGNATION MAY BE SERV-
ED ON THE CLERK WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS OF THE 30th DAY
OF MARCH, 1987

The 78th annual report presented to
subscribers showed a drop in earn-
ings from $207,482 in 1985 to $187,135
last year. Graham attributed part of
this to a decrease in interest on in-

depreciation of $20,000.
Emerson Coleman and Don Camp-
