Yachters face lease i*reise
The Grand Bend Harbour commit-
tee held its monthly meeting on
March 19 with all members present.
A new lease with the GB Yacht Club
was prepared and will be forwarded
to the club for their consideration.
Members Russ Lingard and Bruce
Woodley declared a conflict of in-
terest and Terry Crabe assumed the
chair for this part of the meeting.
After a previous meeting with
Yacht club members, it was decided
to raise the annual fee to $2,200.00 for
dockage. In the past, the club has on-
ly been paying $330.7& per year, about
25t per foot. The term will run for 12
years, with the fee raised to $2500.00
for the third year of the lease. The re-
mainder of the lease will be payable
in the amount of the previous year,
plus the rate of inflation.
The lessor will have the right to
renew this lease for a further five
years, with the rent to be negotiated
at that time. It was moved by Harold
Green and seconded by Cam Haist
that the GB harbour committee ac-
cept the new lease for a term of 12
years_ before negotiations instead of
-17-years. "•
Work on the south wharf will be

will cost that amount to raise the fuel

ting the building, and to pour a con-
crete sidewalk along the westerly and
southerly basin walls. After this work
