Sacrament of Holy Communion was
celebrated on Sunday March 29 at
1:30 p.m. Rev. Wm Milne, the interim
moderator from Mitchell, conducted
the service. Miss Carolyn Love ac-
companied the hymns on the organ.
Rev. Milne's sermon was based on
"Life's Restoration". Those elders
assisting Rev_ Milne in the comrhu-:.
nion service were Clarence Volland,
Bob Bell, John Baker, Harry Moir
and Al Hoggarth..
The Rev. Pm. Milne is to be con-

On Monday April 20 in the church
basement, Rev. Johnson will give
Hensall congregation a briefing of
his finding of the cottage meetings.

As mentioned earlier, we had Inter-
national Day on Friday. To keep with

Zurich to Queensway. They gave us
a delightful hour of singing that all en-
joyed.After, we had time to visit our

The tykes began their climb to the
top on Friday night in Zurich when
they demolished Bayfield 19-0. Brock
Weiss with seven goals and Graham •
Keys with six were Hensall's heroes
with help from Mark Bell two, Jeff
Rathwell, Bryan Struthers, Ryan
Munn and Jonathon Campbell.
On Saturday Brock Weiss four,
Mark Bell, Graham Keys and Ryan
Munn led their team to a 7-1 victory
over Clinton which gave them a spot
in the championship.
The rafters were ringing Sunday
morning in Zurich when Hensall met
a strong team from Blyth and emerg-
ed victorious with a score of 5-3. It
was a very exciting game and always
close but due to the expertise of Mark
Bell with four goals and Jeff Camp-
bell with a single they held on to win.
Eric Groot provided first , class
goaltending for all -three games and
the three coaches - Bob, Ron and Bill
- are to be congratulated. The tyke
team came through the entire 86-87
season without a loss in any game.
Well done!
The novice team did not fare as
well. They had no trouble defeating
Goderich blue on Saturday morning
with a score of 4-1. Scoring for Hen-
sall were Blair Moir two, Chris Taylor
and Danny Taylor.
Returning to Huron Park at noon on
Saturday the novice team ran into the
Zurich white team and lost 4-1 in a
hard fought game. Danny Taylor
scored the lone Hensall goal. .
The novice team also had an ex-
cellent season, finishing at the top of
the standings.
Saturday night the Hensall peewees
beat Parkhill 5-2 in their final game
to become "A" champs. The "B" ti-
tle went to Zurich who beat Lambeth
6-0.
Later in the evening the Hensall
Bantams had their turn in the
spotlight as they defeated St. Marys
8-7 in a hard fought, penalty -ridden
game. -The Hensall team were crown-
ed "A" champs while St. Marys settl-
ed for the "B" title.
Ball registration _
There will be a second registration
for minor softball on Saturday April
4 from 10-11 a.m. at the Hensall
Arena.
Also coming up is men's slow pitch.
They will hold their registration on
Thursday April 2 at 8 p.m. at the Hen-
sall Legion.

Our weekly church service took
place on Tuesday afternoon, with a lit-
tle help from Rev. Hawley who con-

..The Recreation Dance scheduled
for April .4 has been postponed until
July 25: There were a number of con-
flicting activities on the April
weekend, so the Commission
members held a meeting and decid-
ed to have a summer dance.
U.C.W. members are reminded of
their Thankoffering meeting on
Thursday, April 2. Beth Good of Self
Help, M.C.C. is the speaker, and will
have articles for sale with her. Sur-
rounding U.C.W. groups are invited to
attend. Invitations have also been
received from Egmondville and Kip -
pen. The meeting at. Egmondville is
on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 and Allan
and Lloy Grose will speak on Kenya.
Details of the Kippen meeting will be
learned at the Varna meeting.
Members are asked to have their
desserts at the complex by 11:30 on
April 8 for the dessert euchre and
bake sale.

church on Sunday March 29, the
fourth Sunday of Lent. He spoke on
"The Tragedy of Pilate".

Good Friday service will be a joint
service, held on April 17 -at 7:30 p.m.
in Kippen church. The sacrament of
the Lord's supper will be observed at
this Good Friday service. Make plans
now to attend this important occasion.
