God's grace. In this chapter, Paul is trying to show us that Jesus should be the Lord of -our lives. Jesus wants to be the control centre of our minds and bodies. - In this verse Paul is urging Chris- tians to give themselve completely to God, based on the mercy and grace of God. Because of what God,has done for us, in letting Jesus go to the cross for us, we should present our bodies to God. Through Jesus' life on earth, and His sacrifice, we learn how much God loves us. No Christian is one by his own goodness, but by the mercies of God. As Christians think of the mer- cies'of God, they in love present their bodies to God as a living sacrifice. To present our bodies is to put oneself at God's service and disposal. - Presenting oneself to God is releas- ialg oneself, body, soul, and spirit to God. This included what we see, hear, speak, and even our money. God may not take it all, as He just wants us to be at His disposal. Everything has got to be in the Lord's hands, a living. sacrifice, daily.. To die daily is to bring all back to God every day. To offer the sacrifice of praise is to give to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, a holy offering. This is to be set apart for God, and to be free from sin. Our highest goal should be tp please God. Rev. Roger Mason was in charge of the evening service. Guest speaker Rev. Mark Presley stressed Chris- tians need to return to the love of Jesus. From Exodus 33:1-6 Hev. Presley told of the Israelites being complainers from before they left Egypt until (kjd led them into the pro- mised land. Although they were a stiff necked people God*chose them to show His glory in them. In verses 7-11 we read how the people worshipped God when they saw God's cloud over the tabernacle when Moses talked to God. Rev. Presley said because everything is done so fast these days. Many do not take time to know who God is. As Christians we need to spend time in God's presence, to ex- perience who God is. Christians can know what God's name means, but they need to know Ilis glory. When we say Jesus, we are saying the grace, mercy, and compassion of God. The name of Jesus encloses the glory_ of God.
