MARRIED 60 YEARS — More than 250 persons were at the Zurich
Mennonite Church Sunday to -help Edgar and Muriel Cudmore of
Usborne township celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They
were married March 24, 1927. They have a daughter Mrs. Marjorie
McDonald, Brampton; five grandchildren and four great grand-
children. A son Alvin predeceased in 1974. The Cudmores have been
deeply involved in Youth for Christ and Gideon Bible Society activities

Barb Ballantyne was hostess for Xi
Gamma Nu's March 10 meeting with
Sandra Campbell as -co -hostess. -
Linda Johns had. the program
which was on "Southern Europe".
Linda and her husband Steve had
travelled through Southern Europe a
few years ago. They started off in
England and went to Holland,
Switzerland, Austria and into Italy
through France to Spain and back to
England.
She showed a map and told of dif-
ferent things about certain cities
along the way. It sure sounded like -a
great trip! Barb and -Sandy served -a
delicious lunch.
March 31 Xi Gamma Nu met at the
'home of Bonnie Ratz.This meeting
was an election of officers. We' also
voted for our girl of the year. The ex-
ecutive for the year is president - Bon-
nie Ratz, vice president - Janice
Brock, secretary - Nancy Chalmers,
treasurer Liz Taylor, council. rep -
Barb Poole. Congratulations girls!
After a short business meeting co -
hostess Sharon Davis and •Bonnie
Ratz served dessert; tea and -coffee.

of spring songs played by Marjorie
Johns of Usborne set the mood for the
March Education and Cultural Ac-
tivities meeting of Hurondale
Women's Institute.
Guest speaker was Bev Robinson
who explained her duties as staff --
associate of Exeter United Church. At
the local level, Bev plans and
organizes the Sunday Church School
and youth groups, visits the nursing
home folk and one Sunday a month
gives the children's story and prayer
in church. "Time Out," for moms and
tots and a shelter home for young peo-

ladies meet
The March meeting of the Women's
Ministries of the Pentecostal Church
was held at the home of Mrs. Ella Tin-
ney with 13 members present. The
meeting was opened by singing the
hymns "0 happy day," and "Wash-
ed -in the _blood'. Mrs. Shelley
Dayman then offered prayer.
The roll call was answered by each
-member with a scripture verse con=
taining the wnrd_'forgive"_ Mrs. Jean
-Jolly read the minutes of the last
meeting. Miss Marion Triebner read
the financial report.
A letter was read from the Blan-
chard family with cheques enclosed
from each one of the family in honor
of their mother. A letter from Mrs.
Donnan thanking members for a quilt
.she received. The Missionary reading
was read by Mrs. Leila Finkueiner.
Mrs. Hilda Eizenga led in the singing
of a chorus, " When I think of the
goodness of Jesus".
The message of the afternoon was
given by Mrs. Shirley Prouty. She
-centered her message around the
Lord's Prayer. Prayer time followed
with each member participating.
A delicious lunch was served by
Mrs. Hilda Eizenga and Mrs. Dorothy
Ilookey assisted by the hostess. -
TALK ABOUT MONEY

The second meeting of -Exeter two
was held at the Poole house. There
were eight members present. We
talked about doing the laundry and
what the symbols meant, -how to sort.
We learned" that brand new items
are washed separately and we talk-
ed about money. What we would do
with it.
The next meeting is on April 1 at
Poole's house at 7 pan'.

Bev is also involved at the
Presbytery and Conference level and
at the Dominion level with church
camps. Bev is a very busy "special"
person who finds her work rewarding.
Elsie Westcott read the motto, 'She
who owns a hobby owns a mental
island of refuge'. Gladys Richardson
had interviewed several hobbyists
who reported enjoyment, self-
expression, conversation and a sense
of accomplishment in their hobbies.
Marian Dougall and Gladys
demonstrated the art of lace net dar-
ning with samples. Members
answered the roll call with a useful
craft taught by pioneers. Ila Love
reported a spring plant sent to Alma
Rundle, a valued member, who is now
home from the hospital to the Villa.
Lois McFalls and Gladys will share
what they learned at the Short Order
Cooking class, at Gladys' home, Mon-
day April 13 at 7 p.m.
The -annual meeting will be held at
Trivitt Memorial Church, Wednes-
day, April 29 at 4:30 p.m. with supper
at 6:15 p.m._ Reports will be
presented, fees paid, secret pal gifts
exchanged and officers elected.
