Parkhill last week. The Peewee Eagles won the consolation trophy. Wearing their bronze medallions

GB Lions donate 92,000
Madelaine and Jim Dalton have
returned home after their two week
vacation in Venezuela. 'Their Doral
Beach stay was just beautiful.
Marg and Jim Love, GB, arrived
home safely after two weeks in the
sunny south.

In the last Lion's Club meeting111UJC N IIU NII
was announced that the Lion's Club
of Grand Bend has donated in excess
of $12,000 toward community better-
ment and welfare in the past year.
That is truly a remarkable record and
these men are to be applauded for all
their hard work, time and talents re-
quired to raise such a sum. Con-
gratulations gentlemen, take a well
deserved bow!
At St. John's Anglican church on
Sunday, Rev. Walter Vipperman of-
ficiated at the 9:30 a.m. morning
prayer service: After his sermon, bas-
ed on the "Samaritan Woman at
Jacob's Well," the choir sang an an-
them, "God so loved the World". A
nursery is being planned for the tiny
tots of the parish, and will be ready
in the very near future. After the ser-
vice, coffee was served in the parish
hall, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jack •
Doughty.
What a glorious March break we
have been given this year! There
were no excuses for the kids to stay
pent up indoors, driving their parents
crazy - they could stay outside in the
out travelling didn't have to worry
about rain, ice or snow, they could
come and go in safety. Welcome back
to those who have begun to return
from the south, the first arrivals be-
ing of the feathered variety, of course
- the swans and geese -down in the
Thedford bogs.
Don't forget, tonight is the last con-
cert of the season for the Grand Bend
Concert Association. ECLAT!, a
woodwind quintet, will be performing
at 8 p.m. in the Grand Bend United
Church. This will he the last live per-
formance until the lluron Country
Playhouse re -opens its doors for the
summer season.
In Legion news the winners of the
Tuesday night dart games were Tom
Humphries and Kay ANen, with Mike
Tataran and Nora Voisin getting se-
cond place. Tom Duggan won the
50/5( draw.
The winners of the Friday Meat
Raffle were: Alex' Huntley. •Ilerb
Miller, Carl Fouist, Art Chambers.
