By MRS. HUGH MORENZ
Meeting 5 of Grand Bend I1; "Six
Stylish Survivors", was held March
2 at the home of leader Bonnie Idot-
son. All members answered the roll -
call, "What housekeeping chores are
presently your responsibility?" By
the answers given all the members
are energetic workers.
The club members learned the
techniques of how to work smarter,
not harder, by simplifying work, com-
bining, eliminating and rearranging
the chores: The principles of washing
dishes was discussed. Leader Bonnie
helped the members complete the
steps in making a bed and cleaning
the rbfrigerator.
Safety in the kitchen to prevent
burns and scalds was reviewed. The
members learned to immerse a burn-
ed area in cold water immediately
and do not apply oil. ointment or but -
ler. If severe, gel medical care at
once. Each club member then made
an extension cord for her own use.
Plans for Achievement Night May 2
were outlined.
Meeting 6 was held March 9 at the
home of Patti Desjardine. All
members were present to answer the
roll call "Where would you like to go
for a week's holiday?" The mode and
cost of transportation were discussed
._. __The..members Jearned- that -1( --cost
2.3.8 cents a mile to drive a standard
car. The fact that Canadians travel
10,000 miles a year was brought to the
members' attention.
The club then travelled to Steve
Stellingwer'f's Garage in Grand Bend.
Steve and his assistant, Will, did ;I
superb job of teaching the,.proper
technique of how to check the oil and
tire pressure, change a tire, check
battery fluid and apply booster
cables. Everyone participated in each
activity.
We've had perfect attendance at all
six meetings.
