TOYLAND - All members of the Hensall and area figure skating club were on the ice for the opening number in the club's 1987_carnival which depicted the Toyland theme. On April 11 Kincardine hosts rec conference The Town 01 Kincardine is hosting the Annual Lake Huron Zone of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Annual Conference Saturday, April 11 at the Kincardine and District Secondary School. The conference committee has worked hard to provide a top notch Recreation Conference for Dart scores - The top scores of 1411 in F'riday's - regular competition in the Exeter Legion mixed dart .league were recorded by Betty Bowerman and Mac Wall. Greg Ramsay had the high spare score of 138. Get big wins Times -Advocate, March 18, 1987 Page 3A Busy month for Team Circus Team Circus has been extremely busy this past month and putting lots of miles on their trailer and tow vehicle. Al the Canadian World Series at Ennismoro, where sleds came from as far away as Saskatchewan and Wyoming to race the competition was tough. Team Circus was very pleased with their mechanics and driver Brian Eickmeier with temperatures runn- ing unbearably cold at Tess than 20° 'below. jets being changed, spark plugs being fowled. and fingers frozen. Team Circus members were ecstatic to come away with four first place finishes as well as a second. a tremendous,feat after never having won any classes at this prestigious race. At Jackson. Michigan the race wafs -shortened due to mild weather condi- tions; two cars and a van went through the ice into the water. We moved our vehicle three times away from pressure cracks and even then when we were finally able to load up and went hack to the truck it was sur- rounded by water and less than a meter away from. the tire_ was a hole two and a half feet in diameter with water gushing out. We were really quick moving out of there! A front end loader scraped another exit up the bank and traffic was held back in order to get all units off the ice. Brad Elschner and Mark Crichton each scored two goals to lead the Bullets to victory over St. Marys. Scoring in single fashion were Brett Rideout and Ryan, Lindenfield. Mark Crichton ,gained a pair of assists while Mark Lynn and Brett Rideout each helped set up one score. In the loss to Zurich Ryan Linden - field scored on an unassisted effort and Brad Elschner converted a pass from Geoff Sanders to take care of the Exeter scoring. • The Zurich scoring was well spread around with single goals being notch- ed by Wayne MacDougall, J. A stock was the next race to be run but was cancelled and en- try fees refunded. Sauble Beach, hosted the Ontario championships where the Team came away with many wins in various classes and also top overall points in both stock and improved stock classes. This past weekend of March 7 and' Centralia, Huron Park Minor Ball Registration will be held March 26 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. March 28 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. April 4 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Centralia Community Centre - 8 Kearnery, Ontario hosted the Grand National Run which was also shorten- ed due to an unusually mild weekend. Eickmeier claimed four first -place finishes, one second place and two thirds. At this time Team Circus would like to say that they have been extremely happy with the performance and handling abilities of the 1987 Yamaha Exciter.
