Nutrition month airing
Producers promote meat
March is Nutrition Month and the •
Middlesex beef. pork, and lamb pro-
ducers are celebrating the goodness
of the red meats by sponsoring a
video presentation entitled "Meat the
Good News". Three 15 .minute
demonstrations, with Diane O'Shea as
host demonstrator, have been
prepared--by=Rodgers -Ca ble-T.V.,
Channel 13 in London. These videos
portray a positive red meat message.

beef. lamb. and pork. F'urtner infor-
mation and copies of the recipes are
available through the Ministry of

between the Middlesex Cattlemen's
. Association, the Middlesex Pork Pro-
ducers, the Middlesex Sheep Club,
and the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food. The air dates

Junior Farmers hear
of wish fund success
A fund raising campaign to assist --
terminally ill children featured the
weekend's annual conference of the
Ontario Junior Farmers Association
held in Ottawa.
Mike Ryan, one of the South Huron
delegates reports close to $18,000 was
raised at club. county, zoneandpro-
vincial levels for the Children's Wish
Foundation.
He added. "The original goal was
$10,000. 1Ve are pleased that our South
Iluron Junior Farmers were able to
contribute to this worthwhile project.
The monies will be used to provide
last wishes for youngsters who have
a terminal illness."
The local delegate went on to say.
"The conference is come and -gone,
but it's hot gone in our hearts and
minds with the new --friendships and
knowledge we have gained. The days
were filled with speakers and
workshops built around the theme of
"Ideas in Action, Focus '87".
In closing Ryan said, "1 would en-
courage -anyone between the ages of
15 and 29 wishingto meet new friends,
have loads of fun and learn new things
about themselves and the world to get
involved in Junior Farmers".
South Iluron Junior Farmers presi-
dent Al Renning says a drive for new
members and a Beach Party dance at
the Hensall arena on Saturday,
March 28 will feature local activities
for March which is Junior Farmers
month.
Prospective members must be bet-
ween the ages of 15 and 29 and be
residents of an area from the south
boundary of Iluron approximately
Hensall on the north, Kirkton on the
east and Lake Huron at the west.

Members of the local Junior
Farmers canvassed the western por-
tion of Osborne township for the Heart
and Stroke Foundation and raised $55.-

is almost $400.more than a year ago.
In the past year, the South Huron
Junior Farmers have made donations
to the Exeter Fair Board. the local
group homes and Crediton Sum-
merfest. Some of the activities they
sponsor are a car rally. a pancake
breakfast at Thames Road, a bingo at
Exeter Villa for residents.
They have representatives on the
Exeter Agricultural Society and staff
food booths at the Exeter and Hensall
Fairs.
The executive includes president Al

Stewart, secretary .Jeanette Van
Esbroeck.and treasurer Mike Ityan.
