Pancake supper gives
some first view of hall
Shrove Tuesday- and the Parish
Hall of Trivitt Miemorial Church were
once again the time and place for the
annual pancake supper. This event
has been held every year for quite
some time but this is the first time it
has been held in the newly renovated
and decorated Parish Hall.
The most attractive features of this
hall which catch the eye at once are
the stained glass windows, one at
each endof the hall, east and west.
The east window, just having been
newly restored at considerable cost,
is quite beautiful in shades of tur-
quoise, red and gold.
The ceiling is vaulted in keeping
with the original purpose of the hall
which was to be a place of worship
and learning for the Junior Congrega-
tion of the church and has its own
altar placed at the east end. The new-
ly plastered ceiling and walls, done in
an eggshell -colour, and the new
broadloom rug blend in a pleasing
combination to make it a very 'plea-
sant room to be in.
Whereas at one time worshippers
from the church would have to walk
from the front door of the church and
around by Gidley Street to enter the
hall, they may now, since the recent
renovations, enter the hall by exiting
through the original vestry door at the
east end of the church which is built
as a ramp and soenterinto the outer
hall. At -the north end of this is the en-
trance to the Parish Hall and the kit-
chens. To one's right from the ramp
leads another hallway where the Rec-
tor's office, the Marshall Room, and
washrooms are located.
One may still enter the Parish Hall
today from Gidley Street and the
sidewalk leading to the door on Gidley

struction paper, a styrofoam cup, and
two straws. Each was to make
something useful out of each, The
next meeting will be held at Palens
March 2 at 7:00 p.m,
Meeting five was held at Palens,
March 2. The roll call was "What
housekeeping chores are presently
your responsibilities". The main ob-
jective at the meeting was to learn
how to clean your room, how to clean
up after yourself and others.
Near the end of the meeting some
members brought in some old cords
that needed fixing and rewired them.
Then the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be at
Rosanne Dietrich's.

EGG PRICE DOWN
The price paid to farmers for Grade
A large eggs will drop in some pro-
vinces in March, the Canadian Egg
Marketing Agency announced today.
The farm -gate price wiltfall_by one_
cent in Prince Edward Island, On-
tario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and
British Columbia due to lower feed
and conversion costs.
However, prices in Newfoundland,
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec
and Manitoba will remain unchang-
ed because egg producers in these
provinces did not recover their full
production costs in February.
CEMA sets the prices paid to egg
farmers at the beginning of each
month using a cost of production
formula.
The prices are reported in advance
to the federal government'sNational
Farm Products Marketing Council.
has also been built in the form of a
ramp to accommodate the handicap-
ped when necessary. This doorway
leads into a large hallway which gives
access to the church and the rooms
mentioned above and also houses the
space for the choir vestments and
robing, general cloakroom, and
waiting room.
The ladies of the church and the
ACW are always happy to welcome
the townspeople on occasions such as
this one and figure that around 160
people attended the Mardi Gras Pan-
cake Supper which consisted of ham.
scalloped potatoes, relishes, salads.
and of course pancakes and maple
syrup as dessert, all served in
.generous portions. It was great to
see everyone working together.
The new kitchen facilities made
work much easier and the servers got
to the people without having to wig-
gle through the crowd to the other end
of the table as in past years. Many
people toured the new building and
commented favourably saying the
food was superb.
