Vice-president Bob Becker says the new lines are Steiger tractors, new Case International combines, seed drills and tractors. The new combine is the 1600 model axial flow rotary. Bob Becker com- ments, "Case International was one of the first with a rotary combine. The new mhdel has fewer moving parts and has increased horsepower. This is probably the one item that really makes us stand out from the competition." Case International purchased the Steiger company in December of 1986 and the new four wheel tractors bear- ing that company name are expected to arrive at Becker's shortly. The new Case IH grain drill also ideal for soybeans has the unique feature of a newly designed press wheel. The new 200 series tractor. with horsepower capacity from 18 to 31 two and four wheel drive models is set for a complete line of attachments available at Becker's including snow blowers, mowers, loaders and blades. Case International and Cummins Engines have joined forces in produc- ing a CDC diesel engine which is already being used in two tractor lines and some industrial equipment by Case IH. Becker's also are franchised dealers for Case Uni-loaders. Short lines carried by Becker's include Kongskilde culivators and plows, Hardi sprayers, Vicon tillage and hay equipment, Overum plows and fer- tilizer and seed drills, J and M gravi- ty boxes and the Horst wagon line. Also available are a full line of Cub Cadet lawn and garden equipment ranging from push lawn mowers to large riding machines and garden tractors in all sizes. Computers are being installed to link up both Becker locations and later in 1987 they will be on-line with the Case computer network. After 55 years of continuous ser- vice, Becker Equipment remains one of the leading farm equipment dealer- ships in this part of Western Ontario. Started in a small way in the police village of Dashwood by Valentine Becker in 1932 selling International Harvester machinery, the company has grown to 17 employees not only in Dashwood but at the former Monteith property at the south end of Exeter under the direction of sons Bill.end Bob. Bill Becker was involved in the company at an early age with his father and Bob joined the family firm in 1985 after a successful career as general manager and financial officer in the construction business in Western Canada. Bill is president of Becker Farm Equipment Limited and in charge of the Dashwood operation while Bob is the company's vice- president •and head of the Exeter location. At the Exeter plant, the parts department includes Ed Skinner and Roy Stover, accountant Peter Cyzpha and Jan Barry make -up the office staff, Brad Murray is the service manager and mechanics are Gilbert Brand, Pat Mills, Wayne Denomme, and Wayne Dunn At Dashwood Joe Becker is in charge of the parts department, Kathy Keller is in the office and Adrian Brand is the mechanic.
