its artifacts on view at the Lambkin
Heritage Museum.

recent ly,handed over to the museum.

The collection also includes a rare
commercial coffee grinder from the
former Parol -Thompson 'General

colors and condition. -
"We may _even have it setup in the
museum so we can grind coffee and
sell it to visitors." Tremain said.
The Watford display is being
developed in co-operation with Wat-
ford • council. which has given the
museum $425, and the historical socie-
ty. as %veil as donating the artifacts.

Tremain said the museum is conti-
nuing a -search for pictures of Watford
taken in the mid -1800s to the-early-
1900s

He said the exhibit fits in with the
museum committee's policy of
developing an overall history of
Lamblon County that now includes an
extensive collection of iron stoves
from the former Doherty Stove Works
Ltd. at Sarnia.

countryside in search of the rare
stoves.
Tremain said the museum has also
had people searching for the stoves
but "we haven't been very successful
except for what Tom has found. This
has to be the best collection of those
stoves in the country."
Doherty estimated the factory.
which was located on 'Wellington
Street in Sarnia, churned out about
2.000 stoves a year from 1884 to 1942.
Tremain said a search for a
catalogue from the manufacturer has
failed, so "we don't know how many.
types of stoves were made or what
their prices were." •

Grand Bend II 4-11 club held
= meeting three at leader. Bonnie Hot -
son's home on February 16. Instead
of starting with a question they began
with a small quiz.
The members then decided on their
club name as follows, "Six Stylish
Survivors". Then the club discussed
the various choices they had- made
that day. They also discussed what
they would do if they had $700. Many
of the members decided on clothes
and trips.
The group also decided on a few
more goals they would make, one
week from now, one month from now
and one year from now.
Euchre party •
There were 1 I tables in play at the
euchre Wednesday night here at the
Community Centre. Winners were:
ladies high, Madeline Sweitzer: ladies
low, Ortha Baker: mens high, Wilbur
Lovie. Parkhill: mens low won by.
Mary Meikle of Exeter. playing a
man's .card. most lone hands. Mary
Moser.
The town group were in charge of
lunch refreshments. It was announc-
ed another_ euchre would be held.in__
-IWC weeks -on March 4.

Don and Mabel l raser, Lorne and
Dorothy Fenner. attended the funeral
service, Friday. of their aunt, Mrs.
Marian Poore (nee Sherritt ). She was
predeceased by her husband Kenneth
Poore, survived by two sons, Tom, of
Oregon. and David of Mississauga,
four grandsons, six great grandsons.
Mrs. Poore was born December 4.
1900. near Corbett, and died Wednes-
day February 18. The funeral service
was at Mississauga, and burial ser-
vice. was Monday. February 23 at
Leamington.

recently returned home from Florida
and Key West after a 15 -day tour with

They went down on the ocean side
and hack on the Gulf side. While in
Fort Myers they visited Lorne's aunt
who lives there. and a cousin and his
wife from Detroit who are in Naples
for the winter. The weather was good
all the time, and everyone on the bus
enjoyed the trip.

and Katie Freiter, their daughter
Erica and her fiancee from Calgary.
Alberta. to Leamington on Sunday.
The F'reiters visited Katie's sister.
Mrs. Helen Stadler and Annie visited
her brother and fancily. Bill and Ellen
Janzen and sons.

This Friday, February 27 we have
another "PD day special," FREE
SKATE for area school youngsters.
Those seven and under, or inex-
perienced skaters, will have the ice
from 1:00 - 2:0d p.m. and those eight
and over, or experienced skaters.

The Exeter Greys fourth annual
mixed sno-pitch tournament was held
this past weekend at the Rec Centre.
The Exeter Inn-djans captured the 'A'
championship defeating Bernie's
Boozers and the 'B' title went to
Scott's Raiders who downed the Tag
Alongs.
Thank you to all the teams who par-
ticipated and to the weatherman who
gave us perfect weather for the tour-
nament. The Greys hope to see all the
teams back again next year.

Institute meets at Grand Bend

entire community is extended to Mrs.
Joan Howard and her family, in the
death of her husband, Eric Howard,
who passed away on Sunday. He
resided in Grand Cove Estates.
