Reveal Pandora's secrets
Large crowd attends successful figure skating carnival
More than 500 attended Sunday's
carnival al the South Huron Rec Cen-
tre presented by the Exeter figure
skating club.
Entitled the Secrets of Pandora's
Box, the carnival gave the almost 100
members of the club a chance to
display their skating talents in colour-
ful costumes.
The guest skaters were Cathy
Wislon and Paul Armes of the London
figure skating club who are '86 pre -
novice Western Ontario section dance
champions and '87 Great Lakes
novice dance champions.
Solo numbers were performed by
Jennifer Cronin and Lisa Bedard
while Jaime and Jodie McGee skated
an "Irish Jig" duet.
The Exeter -Entertainers junior and
novice precision teams, both medal
winners in recent precision skating
competitions showed many of their
precise patterns.
Mary Jane MacDougall, president
of the Exeter figure skating club said
she was very pleased with the atten-
dance at Sunday's show and wished
to. thank the club professionals,
coaches,: executive and many
volunteers for their help in making
--the show -a -success.
Other members of the executive
are vice-president Joan Heywood,
treasurer Frances Kints and
secretary Terry Pearson. The club
pros are Marg Carey and Debbie
Naujokaitis.

Swat sweeps
The Swat team was the only team
to sweep five points in Friday's
regular competition in the Exeter
Legion mixed dart league.
Pat Leger recorded a high score of
120.

Lucan novice
again winners
The Lucan Novice hockey team
which recently won an International
Silver Stick title has continued with
two more successful weekends of
action.
On Saturday, February 14, the
team participated in a tournament in
Dorchester, winning the "A" cham-
pionship with a victory over the host
club. The team also defeated Erin and
Lambeth enroute to the victory. The
success in Dorchester keeps the
team's perfect record in tournament
play intact. In addition to the wins in
Dorchester and Michigan, the boys
have also won tournaments in Exeter
and Parkhill this year.
Meanwhile, in OMHL playoffs,.the
team is preserving a no loss record,
defeating Watford on February 15,
Thamesford on February 21 and Mt.
Brydges on February 22.
SEWER GRANT
Ontario Environment Minister
Jim Bradley and the Honourable Jack
Riddell, Minister of Agriculture and
Food and MPP tor tturon Middlesex,
have announced that a grant of
$1,551,000 has been approved for an
extension to the existing sewer
system in the village of Lucan.
Of this amount, 8975,000 has been
allocated in the ministry'rl98't:1,988
budget. The total cost of the project
is estimated at 81,980,000.
