charge of The Third Sunday after
Epiphany Church Service. We sang
"When Hr Cometh" and Rev.
Matheson -told the children's story
"New Light For an Old Fire". The
scripture lesson was read from Isaiah
8:23-9::A, I Corinthians 1:10.17, Mat-
thew 412-23.
Tht sermon was "Building a
Forum". When a child becomes im-
patent with the slowness of progress
in -he world - progress as the child
wints tasee it occur - an adult is often
heard saying: "Well, Rome wasn't
.fuilt in a day!" There are many
things which do not happen as'fast or
in the manner `we think they ought to
happen.
1 wonder about the will of God -
what would.God tell us about human
progress? Do things happen as fast or
in the same way God wants them to
occur in our world? We live in a sports
conscious age. We hear about new
sports facilities being planned all the
time. The Olympic Stadium in Mon-
treal, which was constructed for the
1976 Olympics, will soon be
completed.
All of our passages of Scripture re-
mind us the church - our Christian life
is always 'under construction'.
Whenever we think the work is COM'
plete then our mission stagnates. As
Christians we need to wear a sign say-
ing 'under construction' - God hasn't
completed me yet!
There was a very poor attendance
Sunday for thepot luck dinner and the
annual meeting. - •
