FAIR BOARD — Members of the 1987 Hensall Spring Fair Board pose at the annual meeting. Shown
(front left) are 2nd v/p Ross Corbett; 1st v/p Don Dearing; president Bevan Kinsman; secretary -treasurer
Judith Porker and (back) past president Stewart Brown, and directors Jock Kinsman, Cecil Pepper, San-
dra Turner, Beth Cooper and Francis Kinsman.
Plan another two-dav Fair
This year's Hensall Spring Fair will
again be a two-day event, after the
success of last year's changes and ad-
ditions. The extension, plus the new
school section, the Queen contest and
the sold -out barbecue resulted in
greatly increased attendance and a
doubling of gate receipts for the 1986
fair.
Representatives of the Hensall
Kinsmen and Kinettes attended the
fair board's annual meeting to ask if
they could share in this year's
weekend activities. As the service
club no longer supports the Fiddlers'
Contest, Kinsmen president Dave
Hewittson asked if the Kinsmen could
operate a bar during the Saturday
barbecue, and organize a dance
Saturday evening. They would also
like to hold their Workboot Olympics
on Sunday.
Fair secretary Beth Cooper said no
decision could be made until someone
checks to see if operating a bar dur-
ing the fair's barbecue would affect
the fair's insurance.
Bill McNutt attended the meeting to
ask if an Apaloosa horse show could
be held on the Saturday.
The 1987 fair is scheduled for June
12 and 13.
The new executive will be: presi-
dent Bevan Kinsmen; first v/p Don
Dearing; second v/p Ross Corbett
and secretary -treasurer Judith
Parker. Directors are Beth Cooper
(replacing George Townsend),
Stewart Brown, Sandra Turner, Jack
Kinsman, Les Coleman, Frances
Kinsman, Cecil Pepper, John Baker
and Harold Parsons.
