A good crowd attended. Mrs. Grace Pym, Elimville was the guest speaker with the ladies forming the choir with Mrs. Lois Wilson at the organ. Scriptures were read by Janet Hicks, Aldeen Skinner, Iva Blair, Margaret Cook and June Essery. Judy Mills led the service. Audrey McFalls, our first presi- Crediton lady will be 96 By MRS. STAN PRESZCATOR Mrs. Della Sims will be 96 years young on January 19. Mrs. Clarence Fahner will celebrate her birthday the same day and Mrs. Allan Pfaff celebrated her birthday January 13. Tuesday evening Stan and I paid our last respects to the late Elmer Rivers, Seaforth. Mr. Rivers was the father of (Ann) Mrs. Wilfred Preszcator of Baden. Carl Farr and Brenda Glanville, St. Thomas spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Harris and Tracy, Huron Park and they were Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Stan Preszcator. United Church Women January meeting was held Thursday evening. Worship service on the New Year theme was by Doreen Lightfoot and Jeanette Lamport. Rev. Elder con- ducted the induction service install- ing 1987 officers. New president Mary Kenney presided for the business. Dues were _received and roll call was answered with a New Year's wish. . U.C.W.• Presbyterial will be in Mit- chell on January 27. The sermon topic at Zion United Church Sunday morning was taken from Isaiah 66:18-23 and Matthew 3:13-17 titled "That's My Son"! Choir practice is Wednesday at 8:OO.p.m. in the Sunday school rooms. Lunch was served in the school room convened by Donna Smith and June Essery. UCW meets Thursday evening the U.C.W. met with Janet Hicks, Freda Rollings and Dorothy Rollings in charge. Dorothy and Freda gave readings and Janet gave an interesting account of the past years. The members were ask- ed to bring ideas for activities for the coming year to the February meeting. A delicious lunch was served by Donna Smith and June Essery. Neil's schoolhouse euchre was held on Monday, January 5 with nine tables playing with prizes going to high score - Mary Kooy, Bill Dixon; lone hands - Gertrude Hodgins, Harry Noels ; low score - Lydia Regier, Charlie Rindall; lucky score - Hazel Cunningham, Tom Kooy. Even though it was a cold night four skunks were out. The next party is January 19 at 8:30. Out of town visitors this past week with Tom and I were Mrs. Lorne Weiberg a dinner guest on Mogday and Helen MacDonald, Harry and Marian Noels all of Lucan and Howard Dolan of Watford on Friday evening for a good evening of euchre. We were Tuesday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Luther Morley of Ailsa Craig. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowden were guests of their family on Saturday for the noon buffet at the Top of the Fair and the afternoon at Western Fair Raceway.
