The weather was so perfect that no one should have suffered any disappoint- ments in travelling. Residents here were happy to have a few quiet days to catch up on their rest after all the activities and because of the ideal weather. more than usual were able to go home with their families for Christmas day. - We are back on regular schedules here with programs. Movies are he- Mg shown on 1Nonday evenings, which are well attended by residents from both the .home and the apartments. John Warner kindly provides organ MUSIC in the auditorium durng some of the quiet afternoons. Mornings are occupied with exercises. bible studies, current events. shuffle! board and various other activities. The sympathy of residents and staff is extended to the families of the late Mrs. Pearl Graham. We 'welcome Mrs. Elizabeth Gingerich who formerly occupied one of the adjoining apartments of the Home. Bingo was was played on Friday even- ing followed by refreshments. The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Rev. Stephen Alles of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich. The only people who do not have to pass a civil service test to work for the government are the taxpayers. About people you know *•,-. Hiagain! Hope everyone had a nice long holiday and are ready to settle down to their work again - and the kids back tos_chool - after having tto weeks off! I'm sure all of you had a lot of things going on and were as busy as we were and enjoyed visiting with your families and relatives over the Christmas season. And. I must say that we sure had another lovely Christmas; as the Gelinas and Sweeney families get- together once again at the home of their parents, Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. ( 45 in all) which included their children and spouses and grand and great grandchildren. We enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Pat and Barb O'Connor from San Francisco. California celebrated Christmas with her parents, Frank and Gerry Kane. •Bill and Carol Butler and son Scott from Sarnia were dinner guests dur- ing the holidays with her . sister. Carmel and Jerome Sweeney and family. .\Irs. Dora Smale and Mrs. Eleanor Gingerich of London along with her son. ('ars Gingerich of Toronto visited on Saturday with Rita Thiel ( the three ladies are sisters). Pearl Gingerich spent the festive season in Pennsylvania, with her daughterPatty and son in law, Clive ()flies. Mrs. Margaret Hess enjoyed spen- ding Christmas with her son and family, Bill and Audrey Hess in Woodstock. - EthelrGabel spent the holidays with her sister in Toronto - Margaret Kalbfleisch also spent 'Christmas and New Years with her children in Toronto and Burlington as the weather was so nice for travelling .around this year-. Theresa -Stark spent a few days dur- ing the holidays in Windsor With her son. Davidand Carolyn Stark and daughters and saw other relatives as well. John and Bern Denomme spent a couple weeks in Windsor at Christmas time, (also baby sitting their grand- children while parents were away on a trip). Just to mention a few large Christmas family dinners and get- togethers on Decernber 25 were held - at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Overholt, . Mr. and Mrs. Louis Farwell, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Masse.
