The Exeter Mohawks currently
lead the OHA Central Senior 'B' stan-
dings by two points over the Elora
Rocks and TaPistock Royals, but if .
Sunday's game against New Ham-
burg had been one second shorter the
league lead would be three points.
Mark Soehner scored at 19:59 to
give the New Hamburg Towers a 3-3
tie with the Mohawks. Friday night
the Mohawks were edged 7-5 by the
Rocks in Elora and Saturday night
they were in New Hamburg and
squeezed past the Towers by a 5-4
score.
The Christmas holiday will be short
for the Mohawks as they swing back
into action Saturday night at the
South Huron Rec Centre taking on the
Tavistock Royals, one of the clubs
which is in hot pursuit of first place.
Game time is 8:30 p.m. Sunday night,
the Harriston Blues will be in town for

Rocky start
Due to a quick start, hard hitting
and persistent forechecking the Elora
Rocks were able to keep ahead of the
Mohawks Friday night.
Morley Bosomworth scored two
first period goals for the Rocks and
Gary Short added a single. The only
reply for the Mohawks was a suc-
cessful shot from the stick of Brian
Mercer on passes from Rick Hart and
Pete Tuckey.
In the second period both teams
scored a pair of markers as the Rocks
maintained their two goal margin.
Rick Hart converted a pass from
Barry Baynham and captain Randy
Kraul registered on passes from Scott
Eccles and Al Gates. Rod Martin and
Gary Short replied for Elora.
In the final stanza, Doug Latta
scored for the Mohawks on a power
play with the assist going to Pete
Tuckey and the locals scoring was
